Inventory roadster vs coupe

surprisingly AMG gt roadsters are plenty in inventory but not coupes , not sure why this disparity , any thoughts on this folks ?

Cause people buy the coupes and the roadsters are the left overs. I personally hate convertibles. I’m sure I’m not alone.

They made a lot more convertibles than coupes. I had to order my coupe because there were none optioned the way I wanted anywhere in the country. It was worth the wait.

You may not be alone but definitely not the standard ;) I have yet to find a person that hates a convertible. Maybe not first choice but then that depends on the climate...
But to answer the OP's question; people typically pick a GT type roadster vs an actual sports car. The coupe is an easy pick.
MB historically had strong convertible sales in the US and perhaps was too optimistic with the AMG GT roadster.

Personally I think the Coupe looks better than the Roadster, the lines just flow better. The wing of the Roadster is also awkward, and I think the value of the Coupe might hold better, just like it did with the SLS vs SLS Roadster.

I own a GTS coupe but this is beautiful in my opinion and the only reason I don't own one is skin cancer and interior dirt each and every time you put the top down..

I think both the coupe and the roadster look good in their own way :y

I agree the lines of the coupe flow better with the hatchback design. IMO the roadster looks decent with the top down but awkward with the roof up.

The Gen 2 R8 Spyder and Huracan Spyder for example look better with the roof up. YMMV.

For me coupe vs vert is always easy. Living in FL, I need to minimize sun damage. This is the tropics and bird droppings are constant and who wants that in their interior. It's great to fit 2 golf bags in a coupe; can a vert fit any?

The GTx roadsters look great, but so do the coupes. Better fit for me, and apparently most other buyers.

The SLS coupe holds its value better because of the gullwing doors. Coinicidently all SLS models hold their values better than GT’s but few people will buy AMG’s for resale value ;)

We need a new convertible and already have a faster sedan but love both versions.

I noticed that too but maybe because it's winter. We just bought a new 2018 today for a nice discount. Now we have two convertibles in the garage. My wife had to have her own convertible. I have to say I prefer the hardtop convertible that I have but I do like this AMG convertible. It's good looking even with the top up just that it's a rag top instead of a hard top. The SL550 has the hardtop but not the performance of this car.

The GT-C roadster looks gorgeous. I think it looks better than the coupe.

Did she take your parking space too.

What’s with all the white cars and house? Afraid of color?

LOL! No, the Maserati had the other side of the garage and now we have a lot more room by getting rid of it.

Actually the color of the siding on the house is called sailcloth, it was white up until about five years ago when we replaced it. It's not intentional but I guess it's more a matter of preference than we are somewhat oblivious to. However, the cars coordinate with the house pretty well. :)
