2020 centroller Knob vs. Touch pad ...
Here is the picture of the choice of controller in the new center console ...
anyone knows the difference in functionality between the Knob or touch pad ?
Because in terms of design and esthetics ....I prefer the Knob much more than the Touch pad....
i don’t mind staying with a Knob in I can move around the new screen the same way using the Knob.

Funny how Benz and Porsche Copy each other. They both went to haptics on buttons this year.
Same process with hot “V” turbos in 2016.

I respectfully disagree and hope not. I am always changing channels on Sirius XM, and touch screens are always a longer reach and the fingerprints look terrible. Manufacturers seem to be going that way, but it's an "improvement" that I will try to avoid. I like the old *** since it is easier to be precise v the pad.

I have an Audi with both and I turned off the touch pad as useless for my purposes.

I prefer the look of the touch pad, hopefully I can try the touch pad only option out before its time to spec the new car. If I can't try before I buy I think I'd just go for the wheel because I know that works!

wheel for me... but I dont like the look of the new center console. I way prefer the current round **** and over shape and design of the current console, too bad. that looks cheap.

I as well. Seems like they have to change things just to change things. So they can call it the: "all new" - doesn't mean it's better. Round knobs look way better. I'm sure most would agree. Why they had to change that I have no idea.

Btw I’ve never used the Touchpad in my ‘18; just the wheel but boy do I miss not having Apple Play available.

Totally agree ...this is also waphy some classic cars same models are worth more than others depending on the year ....reminds me of 308 Ferrari beautiful chrome slide controls ...vs. The 328 mid late 80s style plastic buttons with cheesy electronic displays ....
i just sold my 2018 GTR ...in hope to get a PRO...but I am upset about the round buttons being gone ...that was the beautiful tieing of the round design of the vents with the center console execution ....almost makes me question my entire decision on buying a PRO ...

I prefer the new center console, in that it doesn't look as outdated as the old console. All those useless numeric buttons for the phone did nothing but clutter up the console. Plus the wheel in the center just looked plain *** ugly to me.
The touchpad is sure a quick way to change songs, either backwards or forwards in the playlist. Love the round, analogue clock as well. The layout is simpler to access in the new version IMO, looks cleaner and less clunky looking.

I'm not sure about the rest of you guys but almost everytime I lift my right arm up for whatever reason, my forearm rubs the control knobs and changes the driving mode I'm in and freaks me out. Feels like the engine or trans just drops... I hate it... I like the center control knob but I am liking the buttons in the "V" configuration....
