hi I found this part loose by my tirefix kit in the trunk. Anyone know what this is? More importantly if you have any pictures on how this fits in the little storage compartment I would be very grateful. Thank you so much!

It looks like the top of an oil filter assembly to me.

That’s to remove the center hub cap on the forged cross spoke wheels. The end of a socket wrench fits over the small nut portion. Unscrew the center hub cap and expose the 5 x112 lug bolts.

That’s your tool to remove and install the center cap of your factory wheels that hides the lug bolts.

I’ve never understood why MB offers ‘fake’ CL wheels. Odd. Thanks to all for letting me know what that damn part is also! lol

cover is on while it’s stores for winter so no pic, but it just sits in there, somewhat loose, it stays put. Kind of center and it sits all the way down. Not to complex, throw it in there, pop the panel cover back on and all set.
