Help with aftermarket wheel specs.

Im thinking about HRE P101’s. I’d like to keep 19/20 wheels. Should I go with 19x9.5 and 20x11.5 so as to have deeper conical pattern?

They recommended 265/35/19 and 305/30/20. The offsets were pushed further out compared to OEM .

Im having s hard time wrapping my mind around the offsets and face designs

I’m a big fan of deeper wheels especially since they compliment the curves of the car. I think wider is better.

They should be be able to photoshop some pics so you can get a better idea of how it will look. Sick wheel choice by the way.

I don’t want the wheels to stick out cause I don’t want them to spray sand and gravel at the paint.

Should i I go with a wider tire up front ? Thd stock uses 265/35/19 with a 9J. Should I keep that with a 9.5J or go to a 275/35/19

What are the offsets HRE is suggesting?

I came across someone running wheels that are more aggressive than stock GTR Wheels so I'm wondering if GTR wheel specs would provide a nice fit.

The GTR wheels are too wide.the rears are 12”.

They said there was 20mm to play within the front and 15mm in the back . So being aggressive they recommend 5mm shy on both . Guess that would be 47ET in the front and 58Et in the rear.

i believe this is perfect. And you can run P4S in those sizes. 275 front too much IMO.

What finish on wheels with your solar beam

yes. The P4S is a wider squarer tire than SS.

Satin perfect. Maybe paint calipers a Porsche type yellow

You could go with either size or tire on 9.5" wheel. Its just going to be a little more stretch which I think looks good. I doubt the amount of stretch on the 265 OE tire will be too aggressive.

I'd go with HRE recs. Ask them to see if they have pics of customer cars with that offset with tire options to give you a better idea?

It will look killer, I'm sure

Will the 265 be stretched too much?

For an 11.5” I assume the 305 is the smallest tire. 295s look small-on the 11”.

I think that would really clash with Solarbeam

i agree the 305 looks right for the 11.5 rear. I think a little more stretch is better than not enough stretch to match the rear. Looks kinda awkward when you have a meaty tire up front with a great fitting semi stretch rear.

P101s are classic. My only complaint is how ubiquitous they are.

Take a look at BBS they have some clean designed forged rims without the HRE tax.

On the left coast P101s are relatively more common on myriad sports cars.

The HRE are steep. $9800 plus shipping. Over ten grand and I haven’t gotten tires , TPMs , Mount and balancing .

Are the BBS similarly priced?

my second choice was actually Forgeline VX1r.

I've lived in Los Angeles and San Diego almost the last 10 years of my life. Under 5 times I've seen HRE P101's on a car on the street. Of course you'll see HRE P101's at car shows frequently, but ubiquitous is a stretch if you ask me. Sure, it's our flagship wheel, but that's almost like saying AMG GT-R's are ubiquitous in Los Angeles.

Same here. Looking at all the Mercedes AMG GT orders, I count less than 30 in the world. So if you really think that's ubiquitous, choose another wheel style, and we'll get you set up, but I wouldn't change wheel styles just because 30 other people have it. A little over half shipped outside of the United States into Europe, Japan or China, so the chances of you seeing another AMG GT on the road with HRE P101's, are basically impossible. You'd have better chances being hit by lightning while being eaten by a great white shark, all while you just happen to win the lottery at the same time.

Trust me, you ain't seeing another GT with P101's on it unless it's your own.

Excellent first choice on the P101's. We've done them on a few AMG GTS' before and it complements the car extremely well.

If I were in your position I would go with 19"x9.5" 20"x12" with 265's up front and 325's in the rear. The wider rears would provide me with more traction & better handling without compromising the stance of the car. The wheels would not be passed the fenders nor would they cause any rubbing. The car below ran that exact fitment. More photos of it can be found here - https://wheelsboutique.com/gallery/m...us-Carbon-Aero

BBS will be more affordable since they aren't custom built like the HRE's. The only offerings they will have for the GTS are motorsport style mesh 3-piece wheels that look nothing like the P101's that originally caught your eye. The Forgeline's look similar through photos but when you get the VX1's next to the P101's there's definitely a different in fit in finish. You can tell when you get your hands on the wheels and even visually as well. We sell all three companies so if you need some guidance I am more than happy to assist you - David@WheelsBoutique.com

I believe he meant ubiquitous design.

These are stock wheels with 15mm spacers. Didn’t want to spend 11k.

Quality and weight differences aside:

BBS F1
BBS RiD
Verde Axis
Klassen M52R
Avant Garde M580

I can keep going.

As they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery but it's still a common design. You'd have to be blind not to notice this on the street.

Some people prefer Pepsi, others Coke. I can vouch for BBS on my F-cars. YMMV.

Are those cast wheels? Are the spacers hubcentric? Did you replace the lug bolts with longer ones?
