GTC tires at 16650 miles

Hi all. Took off the wheels to check the tires. They are about ready to be replaced but perhaps a bit more out of them on DRY pavement. I did do ONE day of autocross that included about seven passes through the course. Aside from that what you see is normal driving wear.

Here are some pics. Posted some extras of the rear steering components and brakes as well.

I'm replacing mine today - at 6,100 miles on my GTC. Too much wear on the front inside. I'm going from Conti 6 to Michelins - Pilot Sport 4S.

Funny you said that John. We are also going to switch to Michelin PS 4s tires. Hubby likes Michelin......

Michelin PS4 are great. I have had the PS line on several different cars since 2013. They are relatively quiet, ride well and grip well in the summer. They do not have a lot of grip in the cold so you have to be careful with them if they aren't warmed up and below 40f they probably won't warm up in normal driving.

That’s why I put the car away for the fall/ winter . It gets cold here in the Northeast. I was looking for winter wheels and tires. Considering OEM wheels and either Sottozero or Michelin Alpinas

I have the Conti 6 on two of my AMG and the real issue is that this tire does not last long at all.

stunning tire but just terrible in terms of lasting more than 4months if driving aggressive.

even my pilot sport cup 2 on my gtr seems to last longer lol

The Conti’s are a softer compound tire and better suited for comfort on the GTC. The Cups are a performance tire and do wear better on the street. You’re lucky some Conti tire owners have had to replace at 6k miles.

Yea but you’re a “Wild Man”. Are you still carving canyons every chance you get?

Best Regards

I run Michelin Snows on mine in the winter

It’s not the greatest in deep snow but it works like a charm on cold dry or wet pavement

4S are good tires or Supersports.. if you do some tracking I actually like the SS better than 4S..some people were complaining the 4S splits on track days and didnt last as long as their supersports...

Just put the 4s on the cars this morning. Car seems to ride quieter. DID not do any aggressive driving. Also changed the brake fluid. Interesting the front calipers have TWO bleeder valves one for each side of the caliper. I also waxed the car so theres a pic of me doing that.

Had Michelin PS for many years, my favorite tire and like you I'm a fan of the MPSS on my GTS.

The PSC2s on my GT3 are a teeth-jarring affair. Hit a pothole=game over.

I have had mixed results with cup2's... amazing for a few laps on track and then they drop off.. more so in their 2nd/3rd/4th events.. cup2's arent great for daily (its a track tire.. even the non corvette spec 1448 ones).. situation dependent. I actually love super sports.. last a long time.. predictable slides on track, not bad for everyday..
