AMG Tobias Moers Future of AMG -Autocar UK Interview

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/i...ll-wheel-drive

So it looks like current 4.0 V8 will be topped out at the 630hp level going forward (without the hybrid ).

Will the AMG GT black series be go above the 630hp? Next generation GT will be all wheel drive

That was my thought as well with regard to the GT Black Series. I guess what the article is stating is that going forward with hybrid tech, the V8 will be limited to the 630hp

Why is that? The Ferrari 3.9 V8 TT is pushing over 700 HP and so is the 4.0 V8 TT McLaren 720S. Why can't AMG get more power out of their 4.0 V8 TT?

Looks like I am getting all my wishes for what I wanted the BS to be (AWD with ability to be RWD, hybrid set up with electric power boost). The AMG engines are different with the torque delivery and probably can;t be pushed.
Sounds like the future is bright for the AMG GT. With a tune, we should be able to get mid 600s on the ICE engine and let's hope for another 100hp on the electric one.
