Reduce engine oil level warning
Got an oil change and after engine oil really warmed up, I got this warning. Anyone get this? The dealership did the change and they put the right amount in, I am assuming maybe topped it off a bit too much. Where on the front can I siphon out some excess? I am looking at pics of the engine bay away from the car and don't recognize the access point...

Pickup up a long suction tube with a bulb on top
Like a turkey blaster etc. Just dip in to your tank and pull out a bit. Make sure the oil is warmed up past 100c.

I'm gonna spar with you just because I have the tension I need to release and you seem to keep at it. Common, let's have some fun. Thats exactly what I said (sarcastic). What else you got? Bring it...

^^^ Thanks Ronin. Have a great memorial day weekend...you are the man...
Just haven't had the chance to peak under there too much since having the car.

had same warning
upon my purchase with 1500 miles I brought it in for 2 year service including oil change
warning came on every once in awhile usually during heated and spirited drives
went back to dealer who drained a bit
yes I could have done it but it was their mistake and I wanted to know it wasn't a bad sensor...

Obviously as the oil heats up and get around it expands and can "increase" volume but with the dry sump, I'm curious if it compensates to some degree and if you want it all the way full from the get go. I was just going to let it burn off but it's been recurring.

FWIW, my new to me 2016 GTS had the exact same light come on 15 minutes after I picked it up. My wife said WTF and I said, dry sump, no worries.

It appears to be a relatively common issue and easily fixed. I let the dealer handle it----they really should know better not to "overfill" on these models.

Had it on my car, seems the dealer filled it up too much, when the oil was hot I found the level reading high on the dip stick, I have had this before on dry sump cars and adjusted myself with a turkey baster but thought I would get the dealer to do it this time.
If the level is high on my past lambo and Ferrari oil can get into the intake system and mess with MAF sensors and the like, not sure if this can happen on the AMG but not worth finding out.

Done two oil changes so far and I follow directions to a tee. Always 1qt over what car wants. So it ends up being 6.5qt.

I have the same issue. Always within 10 minutes of driving it. Had it to the dealer after the last oil change and they removed some oil (or claimed to)... Light still comes on so I'll be calling them again this week.
I have a 2016 Edition 1 with 12k miles and has had 3 oil changes.

Since the GTR at least has an actual 'dipstick', you can easily check the oil level in the Dry Sump holding tank yourself.
Personally I would never drive far with the oil level too high.

Before everyone goes out and pulls oil out of their cars.....I have seen a couple now where the warning is coming on but oil levels are no where near over-filled. They are spot on. So maybe a sensor issue?

There's a software update that stops this. I don't think they apply it unless asked. I think it just gives a broader "normal" window.

You must use the correct procedure for checking the oil on a dry sump or you will get false readings.

Same thing happened to me after oil change at the dealership. Took it in and they took a bit out. They tpld me the sensor is very sensitive
