Which stagger configuration looks best ?
The original wheels on the AMG GTs are 19/20 stagger.
Some people go to 20s all around with wider wheels such as 20x9.5J and 20x12J
Others go for 20/21 stagger.
Does one combo look look better than the other? Can you really tell the diffence in 1”?

I do wonder if this constant need to sell us larger wheels isn’t economically driven by the vendors, as larger wheels always cost more. Other downsides are the tyres will cost more, and there will be less selection. Plus the ride will suffer of course.

Bigger wheels and a lowered car will look bettter, yet handling, comfort and ultimately performance suffers. take your pick

I've had 20/21s and 20/20. I took off the 21" rears because PS4s didn't come in that size at the time and the Pzeros are ****. PS4s are available in 325/25/21 now so I'm thinking of going back to 20/21. I thought it looked better.
Wish I could give a better A/B comparo but I also had H&R springs with 21" rears and Pirelli Pzeros. Rode like ***. I switched to KW HAS, 20" rears, and Michelins at the same time so hard to say how much difference each change made but collectively, it rides a lot better now.

I guess you guys have answered the most important question. I will avoid the 21”s.
So, that being said . The 19/20 stagger will be best for my needs. I just was looking to get a deeper concave design. Wider wheels will allow that. 9.5 or 10j for the front and 11.5 or 12j for the rear.
That pushes me into the limited tire realm again.

There is a reason most cars set up for track use have smaller diameter lighter weight wheels. I have never understood this fascination with putting big wheels on cars they look silly, ride worse, and mess up the handling. And dont get me started on lowering, another thing that seems to be misunderstood.

It's interesting to see cross shopping between the HRE's & the Vorsteiner's vs the Klassen's - that typically doesn't happen as their is a huge gap in quality between those.
Dealers pushing 20"//21" I imagine are being driven by the way it looks. Does it look amazing? To me, absolutely. But what looks good & what doesn't is subjective. If you want to maintain ride comfort and performance then the 19"//20" setup is right for you.
You do need a wider wheel to get more concavity so your decision will ultimately come down to if you want a more concave wheels vs if you want better tire availability. We can build a 20"x12" which would allow you to use a 325 or 315 and if you really wanted even a 305. These sizes yield multiple options from Pirelli, Michelin, & Toyo among others.
Let me know if you need help picking the right wheel & fitment for you. As you can see from our extensive AMG GT gallery we know what is needed no matter what specs you want to roll with - https://wheelsboutique.com/galleries/gt-s

I think its personal choice - the difference in the ride is nominal, unless you have terrible roads. Im lowered and on 20/21 right now and the ride is pretty much the same. 19/20 looks great too. Ride height is going to factor as well. Also don't rule out Signature Wheels - the quality is impressive. The wheel resellers don't tend to carry or promote them because they sell direct and don't allow for margin.
Here's an example of both with the car lowered approximately 1":
20/21 set up Signature Wheels:
19/20 - Factory GTR wheels
