Australia - Brake Pads & Discs
Hello everyone,
I've got to change the brake pads and Discs on our W204 C200K. I'm absolutely sick of the brake dust from the OEM pads. I have tried armourall etc. to reduce the dust, but I think I would just prefer changing the pads which are now due. Any recommendations?

Thank you Aussie E55, that would be very much appreciated!
Did you notice any decline in performance with the aftermarket pads? My dealer is adamant that high performance pads like the factory ones will produce dust.

dustless intima brake pads
Hei Everyone, noooB from Sydney, hills area
Have been lurking on forum but not officially posted any serious stuff.
I have W203 C180K coupe 2007 Super sports facelifted model. I think this is the runout, not sure, bought as used and could not find much info on it here in in Aus.
UK and US have different, bigger engines in them and part numbers are different too.
Y Y Y are we getting crap stuff down under??
Sorry going off track with my venting.
I have been browsing but very little info for aUs downunder. So hopefully this post will help others in search.
Anyways, decided to check out dustless and found the Intima pads (ebay by carblink).
I drive everywhere in Syd for work, field engineer. Have had it on for about 5 wks. Syd have been raining and only couple of nice dry days in between. So its was a really good test.
I'll make this as short as summary as possible.
After 2230kays -
Performance wise, same as OEM, maybe a touch more bite. Slightly shorter distance in wet with ABS activated. ABS does not seem to be as violent. No issues with spongy feeling in wet, slightly in OEM until couple of stomps to dry it.
Dry and hot day - I do not hoon around so brake fade is not an issue. Braking in traffic jam is normal, no squeals.
Dust, I could not see, without close inspection, any dust whatsoever. Perhaps normal road dust but I have not washed the car since the pads were done due to the rain.
Have 3 pics, last one, I picked the dirtiest spoke and swipe it with my finger for comparison. Hope you can see it. I think the black specks are not from the pads dust but from going thru some new roadseal.
I read somewhere material for pads are kevlar and something else. When its cold it squeals a little when braking. I've never braked hard when cold cos' I move off on idle (to let oil circulate) till the end of my street and be around 50kph until I reached main road which is about 1.5 mins. At that time the brakes are warmed up and the squealing have stopped. However its "summertime" now so I do not know if it will take a little longer in winter or have performance issues then. If I remember, I'll post update.
Just a note: I'm not sure as info is scarce - according to forums and MB dealer who had experience (another customer) with Brembo ceramics, ceramic pads eatup the OEM rotor and warp it faster. Just a messenger boy, be gentle on the flame.
Hope this helps.

ATE have released their ceramic pads and they are available for the W204.
I've been trialing them on the front only for the last 3 weeks and they are making a huge difference!. More expensive then their standard pad but they reakon they last longer too. I'll post some pics compairing the front and rear wheels shortly.
Similar pedal feel, a little less bite but I'm really really picky.

Pics of the front and rear wheels after 1000km.
Rears are factory late type pads (not the early dusty ones)
Fronts are ATE Ceramic pads (very clean!)
