Furthermore, none of the new S500s they have sold have the puck and all those new owners are also waiting.
I contacted AWS about 3 weeks ago and they told me the dealer had to install the cradle and I would then purchase the puck from them. I've read here that some of you have already received pucks from AWS. My service advisor told me no, I would buy everything from them.
Has anyone had the AWS installed (cradle and all) from a dealer? If so, which dealer? I'd like to pass along this information to my dealer.
I keep reading the dealers are the last to know so any legitimate intelligence I can gather and provide them will hopefully help me in getting Bluetooth installed!

As I mentioned above, my MB dealer in KC said "Mercedes is telling me that part is on what we call inter-galactic back order meaning there is no stock in this country or Germany."

Well I though my bluetooth adaptor is arriving today but AWS made a shipping error; instead of shipping out the adaptor they send me a Motorola E815 instead I called AWS and the rep. was shock and couldn't believe this mistake was made. So he reassure me the "REAL" bluetooth adaptor will go out today and he will email a RMA for Moto E815. Good thing my car isn't here yet.

The reason I am confused (apart from my mental limitations :-) is that the initial post on this thread quoted a part number, but subsequent posts stated that part number was incorrect.
There has been talk of an AWS-sourced MHI BT cradle supporting Hands-free and OBEX, and talk of a European UHI BT system that uses the SIM access profile. And it is not clear which if any of these are actually available for people to purchase.
So, is the one you are using the AWS MHI cradle using H-F and OBEX? Or the Euro UHI one with SIM Access profile?
Thanks

Here is the bluetooth module for my soon to have E55. This thing is huge compare to my Moto E815 and it is very light. It looks like a straight plug-in to the MHI connector in the car. I am picking up my car this wednesday and I will post some photo then.

I believe as long as you have a V60 setup in your car, you are good to go. Looks like the puck is just go on the V60 cradle adapter.

I have a 04 E500, and I just called AWS yesterday. They said the BT puck for the V60 in '04 cars will be released between 5/15 and 5/30 and it is a pretty firm date.
He also said that the supported phone list will be different than the MHI puck, but he did not have any idea if that meant more phones supported or less phones supported.

sorry, catching up here.
so if my cell phone has OBEX, it should download? or is it just hit and miss. I have a great phone, Samsung D600 that I picked up overseas. Just not sure it will talk to the car properly.

Don't know how the Puck works, in my Parrot CK3100, no need OBEX to transfer phonebook with my Verizon V3c. It uses AT Command I believe.

Can I swap cradles
Re: '02 CLK430 w/OE Timeport
Soooooo....can anyone tell me if I can swap out my Timeport cradle with the V60's cradle? Will I have to change the PSE for it to work with the DB2 puck?

02 cars will require the puck. You will you need a v60 cradle and pse though. I recieved the bt cradle for my most based car and it sucks IMO. You are limited to a few phones. I tried pairing several other phones and if they pair, then there is no phone book download. Most did not pair though. I am sticking to UHI cradles for now.

The motorola razr, pebl, v600, v710, e815 work fine. The blackberry links but no caller id display and no phone book. Also no SMS. None of the sony ericssons I tested worked. t630, t637, w810i. Also, I linked a nokia 6230b but no phone book download. Also, using bluetooth kills the phone battery quick. Personally, I prefer the cradle as all features work fine and the phone gets charged along with the use of an external car antenna.

I'm really confused and would appreciate if you could give us a quick summary. I have a '04 E500 w/V60 cradle. Is this UHI? I'm pretty sure it is not MHI. So do you mean you got the BT puck that I would use in my car and above are your results? How did you get the BT puck, seems like they are not available...

2003 and 2004 E class cars have a combined Phone PSE with Teleaid Module. You will need the puck inserted inside the v60 cradle to make sure of bluetooth. You will have to wait till May end.... hopefully .

Does not look like you have any phone system. You will need to get a v60 pse and v60 handset cradle first.

Have you tried any Windows Mobile 5.0 based phone like the Cingular 8125?
