Where can we find info on this Puck with a Tail?

If you have one of these cars without a phone system, just add "Puck with tail" to get a fully integrated hands-free solution. This is possible because hands-free phone functionallity was built into the CP211 communications platform (specific Teleaid Box) included in every one of these cars at the factory. This new Puck has a leadout that simply plugs into the cradle connector tucked under the center console floor, no other hardware needed! The bad news is that it is not expected until about October this year.

Where can we find info on this Puck with a tail? I would like to read about it.

I have a 2006 c230 sport, it has the phone controls on the radio & steering wheel. It does not have a cradle or cable in the armrest lid.

What do I need to do, in order to get bluetooth working in my car?

Is it something I can install (I'm fairly handy)? Or will I need the dealer?

My dealer is small and has no idea about bluetooth, so I would need to tell them what parts I need installed.

I appreciate any help with this. I've looked through this thread, and I am confused (new to all the MB jargon).

Thanks in advance.

I have 2004 S500V4 with factory V60 cradle. Just purchased the BT puck on eBay. Plugged it in and it paired with my Verizon RAZR v3m immediately. The set up works reasonable well. The following features work w/o issues:

Comand keypad dialing
Voice activation
Steering wheel controls
Caller ID

Phone book downloaded first 10 or so entries. Call lists (missed, dialed, redial) do not work. My plan is to un-pair and pai again to see if things get better. Any other suggestions ?

Thanks Jayhawk.

Quick update...

I re-paired the phone and the entire phone book (~150 entries) transferred successfully. So, all functions work as adverties with Verizon RAZR v3m, even though it is not listed as the "certified" phone

Depends where I'm going.
Has anyone used a Cingular 8125 with the bluetooth module? I just upgraded from a Razr and lost some bluetooth features. The Razr worked flawlessly with all functions including Command display, instrument cluster display, dialing/scrolling with the steering wheel buttons etc. With the 8125, the contact list won't load, recent calls don't display, dialed calls don't display. I already tried using jetwavemobile and still nothing.

The reason for the loss of functionality is that Windows Mobile doesn't support the SAP (SIM Access Profile) BT profile. Instead WM has the hands free profile abut the two are not compatible. I have looked into this and there might be chance that Microsoft will implement SAP in a future release since they realize that more and more BT kits from Europe are useing SAP and not the hands free profile.

Now, looking into this I did find that some company have written a new BT stack that implements SAP. I have attched a beta version you can try to load on your phone. If you do let me know how it works. I don't have BT in my car so I don't know if it does work. I am still looking and haven't made up my mind yet as to which solution I want. There is a couple of 2rd party solution comeing soon and they might work better.

New BT stack

Help!!!

I am a newbie also!!! I drive a 2004 Yukon XL to cart the teens around in and just got a pre-owned 2007 C230 Sport for running around town.

The car was not pre-wired as far as I can tell-----not listed as optional equipment on the sticker and no cables or cradles in the armrest.

I am a bells and whistles type and MUST have this phone thing working. I called a local dealership and was quoted $1400 but don't know what all that included. Any suggestions on where to go in Atlanta area? And what is a reasonable cost to have this done?

I also checked into having the stereo system changed out to include the navigation and bluetooth..........dealer quoted $4300 (plus the $1400 for the bluetooth) and an independent audio specialty place quoted $3,050 to have it all done.

Not sure that I can convince hubby that I need to spend that much on getting it all done as I don't work and really can't justify this NEED. HELP!!!

Can someone give me a simplified version of what I am looking at as far as getting the bluetooth working and an approximate cost?

Are we able to get SMS messages with the puck? I see the softkey but its grayed out?

Also can we change the ring tone we hear through the speakers on imcoming calls?
