Which COMAND units have real-time traffic status?

Per the subject, which COMAND units (year/model) have real-time traffic information?

Many thanks!

Shouldn't the real questions be:

1) Which locale in the US provides real-time traffic information? and
2) Will my command be capable of receiving it while interupting my regular listening enjoyment?

euro models have TMC which does not work in the US. US has XM navtraffic which does not work on the comand. So None of the USA mercedes support life traffic as of this post.

I guess my assumption was that it would be satellite (Sirius?) based, and that it would display on the COMAND system and be available for viewing and working out avoidance routes while my regular listening program was playing?...post after your nixed that assumption, but many thanks in any case

There are currently tests of real time traffic aimed at the top 50 US markets using FM subcarrier spectrum. The moguls are working to see if a subscription service or advertiser supported business models would work. To my mind, neither will make a penny, and this work should be carried out by government. They already have the hardware to detect traffic problems, they are just stingy about sharing it.

there are a few companies that introduced this on the compact navs such as Garmin and Alpine Blackbird. A subscription is required though.

This information is freely available on the Internet, so as the Internet becomes available in our cars it would make any 3rd party creation useless IMHO.
