2004 C55 W203 iPOD Integration Kit for Audio 50 System
I handed in my car to the local dealer and will get my car back tommorrow with the iPOD Integration kit installed. My C55 W203 has equipped with the very top range Audio 50, so the technician was convinced that can be done for just a half day job. The iPOD itself will be housed inside the glove box with the customered stand. What I was told, the iPOD will be 'direct connected' i.e. not through the AUX plug; and it should have the best audio sound I can get. I am also told that all the controls of the iPOD will be on the steering wheel and song names etc will show up in the car's LCD control display screen.
Just wonder if any user experience to share? I have to pay US$720 incl. the kit and labour.
Another of my concern is the coming iPHONE, am I just stupid to install the iPOD kit now whilke it is not even physically/practically 'compatible' with iPHONE ! Based on what i know, the all iPOD buttons will be disabled after it is plugged in to the kit.
