you can get a hold of jay@navtv.com he has a mostauxmb piece that will allow aux in on the optical, you can use google now, siri or cortana to control the audio, they also have a steerblue controller. you can also replace the radio with a modern unit also with the opti1 piece. The new kenwoods look promising with the carplay/android auto once the new ones are released.

Love digging up old threads.

Not sure if OP is still around but I've got a pretty good grasp of this I seem. I was just curious if you're willing to just cut out the CD changer if that would simplify installation?

My goal is just to use the gateway for Bluetooth audio, by running the GW ipod-out to a BOVEE 1000 BT audio adapter.

If possible though I'd be perfectly fine pulling the trunk CD changer and mounting the gateway in its place.

I've got the whole dash apart anyways because I'm currently swapping out the LCD screen in my nav which has been its own challenge as the 05 w215 has a relatively rare command unit. But I'd prefer to keep things as simple to bring back to stock as possible
Thanks
