audio cdr's fail
 
hi.. i own an e-class 280 2001 it came with audio 10 cd player.. why cant he play cdr's?... what can i do for it to read.. some software upgrade?
and another question is why there is no aux in put? how can i connect dvd to it? i heard that through FM signal its not good quality ?

I cannot answer your specific questions; however, there has been input into this forum on the capabilities of Audio 10. I suggest you do a search of both the E-Class and the audio/telematics forums here and on BenzWorld.

Also, you say CDRs cannot be read. You don't say whether the music is in the standard AIFF format, or whether you're trying to play mp3. Not all players were designed to handle mp3. Some may be able to be updated for mp3, but I don't know which. Again, that has been posted either here or on BenzWorld.

If you have an AUX input, it is likely to be on the left hand side of the glove compartment, and may be under a plastic cover. That deals with where. If you don't have one, I cannot answer the question as to why. Mercedes just didn't provide them in all cars (including six of the seven years of production of their flagship W220, the S-Class).

Some contributors have posted how to retrofit an AUX input in some cars, without guarantee it can be done in all models. Again, search the forums.
