2012 R350 BT - Acura TL SH AWD 2011 - Mustang GT 1994
R Series (W251) Navigation screen failed
The navigation screen in my 2006 R500 has failed - horizontal lines. The audio controls (radio/CD/Auxiliary) work fine- just no image on the screen. It appears that the screen unit has failed. Has anyone experienced this etc.

I have seen this when a module was added to the screen to allow rear camera. the easiest way is to open it like you were going to load the nav unit and look at the ribbon harness under the screen (bend down and look up to see the back) if it is white, then your problem would be with the interface, if it is dark brown and copper... then it is factory and you have to figure where the problem is. hope it is the first as it is a cheap fix.

Kent, Thanks for the startekinfo reference, I can't log on from Canada.
The screen was working well on Friday to Sunday - as good as new. On Monday it failed again.
It looks like a factory part. Since it is a US car, and I am in Canada I will have to book an appointment with a MB dealer in Detroit for a diagnosis.
