Hello all
As the title suggests, iv lost the keyless entry/go card for my car . Using the key seems so prehistoric now
But i wanted to get a replacement from the likes of ebay, just wanted to know what the deal is with them being programmed/paired to my car, especially one that has been used on another car before hand?
I know its a dealer only job, or atleast someone with a Star Machine, but there seems to be a few different kind of key cards out there even though they look the same. Something to do with the FCC ID matching on the back of my key card to the one im about to purchase. Unfortunately i have no way of knowing what the FCC number on the back of mine was
Any help/suggestions in getting another key card, preferably not from the dealers?

I suspect that N.A. model had a different card than from the continent, so you want to be careful on e Bay for replacements. There more than likely are different frequencies delegated to the keys by government intervention.

Apparently iv been told, by various members and a dealer, that these cards are only able to be programmed once to a car. Which pretty much renders all the ebay ones useless as they will already have been paired to a different car.
At the time of writing the dealers can only find 4 cards left, and they're all in Germany.

I'll bet they are worth (?) an arm and a leg and maybe even your first born.

However, when i enquired, it was £200 ($310) for the key card, and perhaps another £75 ($120) to pair it to the car. Not too bad a price from the dealers if you ask me.

If there were truly only 4 left to buy I think I'd hop over to the PDQ and lay out the plastic.
