Poor Bass C CLASS - W205
Hi,
I bought a new C class( 14 plate w205) about two months ago, used from the dealer. The car came with standard speakers but the sound quality is so poor in terms of bass, my Nissan primera had better bass sound than my new C class. There is a speaker on top of the front dash which dosen't work or there no speaker inside it?I was thinking of replacing the standard speakers with some after market ones, can anyone recommend me any please.
Thanks

Hertz 165xl , and look into Audison 8.9 Both make big improvements , I put in both , first the speakers then amp. If you have an audio 20 you need to enter the Maintenance program to access the parametric EQ, I think the factory setting is bland, I did a bass boost , mid cut , high boost , it got better but until the 8.9 was put in I wasn't happy.

^^Double that on the Audison 8.9. Best $900 I've ever spent on car audio. Decent power and clean, but the biggie is all of the digital signal processing it can do. Massive amount of control right down to the individual speaker itself. Write up is in my sig.
I also have the Hertz DSK 165.3 in the rear doors (Focal KRS100 in the fronts) and they're a great sounding, very efficient speaker perfectly suited to the Prima.

hey guys
so if I simply add an audison 8.9 to my stock burmester (w213) setup, I should see a big improvement? I’m looking for less harshness in the mids and highs and tighter bass.
thanks!

The Audison 8.9 will give you complete control of sound , even options for different crossover types, it will have enough power to make your ears ring for days. But yes it will do what you want. Your speakers would be the weak link. I’ve had the 8.9 for 3.5 years with hertz speakers, (the second most expensive units) 6.5 I think,

There is also a hidden EQ in the radio, it’s hidden in the Engineering Menu, I forget the 3 buttons you push, look it up, you can cut treble and boost bass, be carefull take a photo of the eq bands before you adjust them.
