Where does NTG 4.7 online data come from?
I just had the Comand system in my car replaced replaced by the dealer. It looks like I have a newer version in my C-Class than I had before, which was NTG 4.5.
What surprised me is that the Mercedes Apps and web browser are working. The data connection works even without a phone This is something that had not worked before. Even when I tried hacking into the engineering menu and enabling BT tethering.
So why is my car able to connect to the internet? Is it supposed to be getting data? Even the dealer seemed startled by that as they hadn't seen a W204 C-Class do that before.

Even without a subscription? Mbrace is the only thing that makes any sense. The Yelp and Here apps are really nice to have. I wish they were directly accessible from the map screen
