"Activating Smartview"
I recently purchased a S550 from a MB dealership in Pennsylvania. The car comes "equipped" with the Smartview option but is not active in the car due to PA law prohibiting video display devices in the front. I am registering the car in New York State and was told by the dealer in PA that I can take the vehicle to any MB dealership in New York and have them "activate" this option. Has anyone experienced this before? My local dealer said that they would have to hook the car up to the computer to see what they can do. It just sounds odd to me.
