W251 Audio Gateway Reset (Harman Kardon System)
Hello Folks,
I have a 2006 Mercedes R500 (W251) with the premium Harman Kardon System. I bought the vehicle with an aftermarket radio installed that looks like it is using the MOST optical adapter to feed audio to the Audio Gateway (which includes the audio amplifier and dsp). The system just does not sound right at all, too much midbass and I cannot hear the subwoofer kick in at all. I am wondering if there was some kind of equalization/dsp stored in the audio gateway that is messing with the sound. If I had the original command unit I could play with the DSP and see what is going on but I do not have the original command unit. I am wondering if there was a way to reset the DSP settings to the default using a MB diagnostic tool or by pulling a fuse or anything. Does anyone know?
