Tap in to NTG3 dvd changer output.

Considering that the DVD output is the only support for true 5.1 channel output to the logic7 amp, that is not simulated from 2 channel stereo, has anyone researched an option to tap in to that output at the Comand unit level?
Basic premise is like the MOST adapters for aftermarket HU to send signal to the factory amp, but they all have limitations. Back in the early days of digital files, I used products like a CD changer, that was actually an aftermarket hard drive based music drive, that simply interfaced with the car like a CD changer(with significant limitations), but provided output from your files, while the HU thought it was a regular CD.

Say one wanted to not go the AUX analog input route, but be able to tap in at the DVD side, so that selecting DVD in car as the output, would actually give me a way to feed true digital input to the AGW, up to true 5.1 channel audio, while the car is never the wiser, thinking it is coming from a DVD playback.

If anyone has any information on this, I would appreciate it.
NOT a mobile audio expert by any means here.
