Mercedes benz 1991 300ce(RIP), now an 89 300ce
broken radio

i have a 300ce and recently the radio almost completely stopped working. the cd player still works but i can only change the volume and songs of the cds. the radio is stuck on 87.5 and cannot be changed by pressing the presets or the scan/seek buttons. i cant change the bass/treble and the volume goes to a very high level everytime i power on the radio. also, i cant change the balance or local/distance settings. anyone know what the problem is? if you need more info, just tell me. thanks in advance.

its a 91 300ce. i want to change the radio, but that requires rewiring the entire car. that will take some time...and money....and work. any other ideas of whats up with the radio. and possibly how to fix it without rewiring the car?

I doubt a new radio would require rewiring the car, it takes a $3 adapter.
