Time to give back to the peeps at this forum... I'm located in vancouver and ordered a C250 Coupe (no bi-xenon package) in late June. My SA stated today that my car is stated to arrive in Halifax on Sept 8 (probably on the same boat with a few others on this forum located in Ontario), and that I should be taking delivery after Sept 20.

Hope that sheds some light for people anxiously waiting in the west coast .

What kind of repairs? Is it because of the Kompressor engine. I heard in general those engines break more (particularly on Audi's and VWs) and are very expensive to repair.

Don't tell me it was electronics. I've heard of some MBs needing these $3k and $4k computers put in too. Electronics have probably been the biggest annoyance on my wife's Passat - soon to be replaced by a new C.

do it! time for you to get a change. although now all the money you dumped into the w203 would be all for naught.

his is a special case and the car is almost six years old. these kinds of repairs are inevitable. don't be put off by it. everyone's situation is different.

Thanks, I'm not put off, because I'm getting standard aspirated, but no way a six-year car should be having repairs in my opinion. I kind of understand once they break 10 years or 100k miles for the average car. I don't consider MB an average car.

Once the warranty is up on these cars, that's usually when the problems start. Also, an MB, especially the C-Class, is an average car that is prone to the same problems as others. This will be my third C-Class, so I will have owned all of the past three generations of the car--202, 203 and 204. They all have their upsides and their problems. They're frustrating at times, but it's still a good car.

It's funny in a way because I know owners of both MB and BMW and some of them tell me their cars never had a problem, even rather old ones i.e., 10 years. Then you hear cases like yours where you have problems or BMW with so many problems.

The cars I've owned in the past 20 years (VW, Hondas, Toyota, Mercury) all started having problems about the 105k mark and then went steadily and expensively downhill despite impeccable maintenance and my best efforts. I'm pretty much vowing to get rid of any car before 100k this time.

Engine stuff is not a problem.

But the amount that I'm dumping into repairs right now is WAY more than I originally anticipated.

Having purchased new, a 202 '95 C280, a 203 '01 C320 and now a W204 C300, i can say that the C300 at 4 years has not had anywhere near the warranty repairs of the other two. The C320, being the first year of the series was an absolute disaster repair-wise. Endless electronic failures, mostly memory units and the replacement parts were no better. Right from mile zero, BTW.

Thank God for the extended warranty which picked up another $2800 in repairs in the final two years I owned it. The early W203s and W211s were the cars that cost MB their worldwide engineering reputation and killed sales. MB canned their then CEO over all this.

All those warranty repairs made lots of money for the MB techs though but what with the reliable W221, W212 and our W204s, the bottom has dropped out the warranty repair orders and many techs have lost their jobs across the country.

My C300 has about one month of warranty left so is going in next week for a thorough check-over to see what might need doing as one last bite out of the warranty. No cost to me, of course.

What was your assembly date? I'm wondering how long the whole assembly to port process takes.

Sadly I don't really know. My sales is so clueless I gave up asking him for anything to specific. All I know is 2 weeks before that, he called telling me my car's in production and cannot be changed.

Sadly, now that they have the price listings on the website, I don't know if I can swoop this car up right away. May be a little while longer until I actually get one.

I really love the look of the new C coupe.
