Haha, I did see those and I was very cautious to make sure I would not end up in one of those. That GL is exactly what I did not want to be.
I did see that website and reviewed it. But there were definitely some places where I was completely clueless.
I think I'm going to agree with you on the spoiler.
The car should be here in about 6 - 7 weeks.
You mean this stuff:
That looks like Schinken and not Speck.
It didn't really help that the meals all looked like this either:
And this, this was genius:
P.S. Andy, I saw your edit! Google Translate FTW!

Thanks, guys!
BTW, I just remembered, the reason why I went through that tower was because the car's navigation system was telling me to! Man, it wasn't the only time it wanted me to go in weird roads, lol.
Ha, good that you didn't end up in a Bächle. A unique Freiburger feature of water running alongside streets in the (mostly pedestrian only) city center. A few weeks back the pope was visiting Freiburg, including a meeting with former chancellor Helmut Kohl. Kohl's wife was driving the couple's Mercedes GL and ended up having to have it lifted out of the Bächle.
Driving in another country is always challenging, particularly when it comes to the details. This site has a good overview on the rules and regulations (and you know how we Germans love our rules and regulations ) of driving in Germany and shows you some of the symbol-based traffic signs that aren't used in the US. You didn't scratch your C or had it towed, so all is good in the end.
BTW, my two cents regarding the add-on spoiler are: leave it off, it looks nice and clean the way it is. How long before you get the car back in the US?

Haha, no not yet.
The dealer emailed me today saying that it didn't show up this morning and that if it came in late tonight or tomorrow morning it would be ready by tomorrow evening...
I drove by the dealer and through their lot tonight as I was coming come from dinner, lol. Had to be quick because I didn't want BHPD thinking I was doing anything illicit. Didn't see it.
So, it'll be home hopefully soon

nice pics....thanks for sharing!! Did you happen to spend any time in the old part of Sindelfingen? My buddy lives near the factory and I have to say, of my ten days in Schwabia and Bavaria, old town Sindelfingen was the highlight.

Just wondering what setting to make your car's little LED C light up with fog light LED w/o the Xenon on?
Nice write up and pics. Make me want to do my next purchase with euro delivery...

haha, I wish, Andy! One day
Thanks! Unfortunately, I did not. The only time spent in Sindelfingen was at the MB Kudencenter and the factory. After the car was picked up, I drove to Stuttgart. Next time though
Ah, I think you're referring to this pic:
I cheated with that picture. The cars lights were set to auto and the car was already turned off. I just unlocked it so it would turn on its lights.
Thanks! I'm definitely going to do this again.

Parking light setting will turn on the "C" LDD but turn off the day-time-driving LED. I only play with it for few mins...I will check out owner's manuel and see if able to turn both LEDs on w/o Xenon on.

The car looks awesome with the de-badge! NICE!
I wish I could drive around with just the C showing all the time!!! I might just turn my headlights on during the daytime so the C shows LOL

You can, just turn your parking light on (1 left click from center) but your LED day-time driving light will be off.

I think I'm just gonna go full on headlights always. in the daytime the C is still very visible with main beams on
