It is not perfect and needs mods as any stock car. It is much better than my former G37x in handling/steering, suspension and about same as fast with better gas millage. You would need to spend more to get sport car or apply mods. Try next step BMW 335i and you would need another $15K to be bit faster.

Our agent called and left a message.... pricing and order will not actually go in until after New Years Day sometime, (1/6-12/12) and the car will not arrive until early to mid April he said... (most likely early May)... okay by us... we gave him the configuration along with a deposit... we're not in a hurry.

As I mentioned in another thread earlier, dealers may take orders for anything to get your business, but the car is not in the ordering system yet.

Per a product announcement, the C350 Coupe 4Matic will be built in March. Production will be allocated in February. It should show up in the system next month. The release date is 4/17.

On this date the cars will be shipped from Baltimore to MB dealers around the country. The pricing indeed may not be available until 2012, but really the only unknown there is the 4Matic option that usually is $2,000 to $2,500.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but you assumed that just because you purchased a rear wheel drive car, its cornering would be "more precise" than a 4 wheel version of the same car... and that isn't always the case. There are plenty of road tests that prove otherwise, that among stock models, the loss of control is mainly due to the myriad of electronic stability controls found on modern road cars. There are actually 4 wheel variants of certain cars that even corner better than their rear wheel brethren do, but I will grant you this, 4 wheel variants are not always as much fun, especially if you enjoy drifting!
2 diff GT-Rs? I love the GTR one of my favs although this is an MB forum i love my c250 as well!

Are you crazy?

You start a thread about your new car and then you go off on some moronic rant about Nissan, the Juke and some absolutely baseless nonsense about AWD and RWD.

The C350 is nowhere NEAR a "precise handling" performance car, it's hardly even a sports car, evident by the fact that it has zero accolades and absolutely no press coverage. It's so far from a sports car that the major auto magazines don't ever bother bringing one to the contest.

Obviously, your taste and knowledge of cars is as crappy as your English.

EDIT: Oh my god, it's not even his thread. He IS crazy.

Please do not engage in personal attacks. This forum is great to get help from people with experience. People whose goal is to prove themselves to strangers should be simply ignored instead of encouraging them by pointlessly arguing with them.

2020 CLA 250 4Matic Black
These information forums should not be a testosterone smackdown.
BTW @GuOD he is not taking back the C-Class Coupe is a "Chick" car thingy so there. That was the AMG Coupe picture.

Precise cornering, I am guessing that something you would find in a Forumla 1 car so I have never experienced it.

When I was younger and drove a Civic with double wishbone suspension front and rear I recalled thinking this is amazing steering and cornering but I defer to the more knowledgeable in thses matters. The way most of the folks I see drive I think they would end up on the curb if we had anything precise when it came to steering.

Oh MBRedux that Nissan GT-R is to die for.

Now back to what I think the original post was about the release of the 2012 C350 4matic Coupe. I think this is MB play into the once BMW only market. In person the Coupe looks amazing so with the extra HP and 4WD it should be an interesting drive.

The sales numbers on all the 2012 C Class looks impressive so I am sure this will do well.

Getting back to the upcoming C350 4Matic...I think this would be a great selling car on the East Coast. I personally like AWD in rainy or light snow situations. Despite its summer sport tires my CLS 4Matic provides an added sense of security of AWD. And when wanting a quick getaway at a stoplight or exiting a turn nothing beats AWD (as is the case with my two P-cars). I found that RWD cars with a lot of torque can't seem to hook up without the ASR intervening. As an example my BMW puts out around 420 lbs. ft. and has a very light rear end. The car's traction control kicks in almost everytime. And no, I don't think the C coupe is a chick car. It's an overall attractive design which appeals to both genders.

I've only driven FWD in winter before but we had our first few snowfalls here and RWD is definitely not an ideal choice for winter driving If the 4-matic was available at launch I'd have gone with that.

It's still totally liveable though, and it is fun to fishtail all around

Oh please, that was farther from a personal attack than the C350 is from being a "precise handling" machine.

For my curiosity, is there any advantage of 4-matic besides the added traction in snow driving?

I find added security (or at least the sense of it) when driving in rainy weather, especially in the when there are wet leaves or puddles on the road.

We got a few inches of powder last week and I took the C300 4matic for errands and dropped the E350 off for service and I agree that there is a very significant difference but the RWD isn't so skiddish on OEM tires that I would feel the need to avoid driving it in moderate snow or rain. I easily climbed a hill where an M6 was stuck halfway up because of it had bona fide performance tires.

Back to breitling's nonsense about AWD and RWD.

RWD isn't picked for it's "precise" handling. It's chosen because of the predictability of a RWD car's handling at the limits of adhesion and under acceleration.

C350 Coupe
If you took the RWD C350 Coupe and a AWD C350 Coupe (Same Tires) the RWD will always win around a dry track. The AWD will always win on a wet track. AWD makes the car easier to drive fast and RWD requires skill.

2012 C350 Coupe 4MATIC
My C350 4-Matic Coupe will be here next week. I ordered it February 18th. Salesman called yesterday to say ship would be docking in next 2 days then trucked to St. Louis. One day next week. Good thing because my Infiniti G37 lease is up next Saturday!

Pallidium Silver-ash interior-burl walnut-18" 7-spoke wheels-navigation-keyless go.

Super excited!

As I mentioned 4 months ago (see above in this thread), the release date for this model was April 17th. On this date the cars will be released from Baltimore and other hubs to MB dealers. It usually takes another week or so for the cars to be delivered locally.
