P.S. is there any way I can be allowed to edit the original post so that all of the DIY are contained within the first post?

jct - for now just post them & I will do a clean up later under your primary post. The forum blocks members edit rights after a specified number of hours. I will raise this issue in the Mod Cafe & see if there is any way to remedy.

Yeah, that would definitely be something I think all members would like to taken care of. Perhaps there is specify when creating a thread if it will be informative or "DIY", and after passing a moderators approval, will allow special privledges, with editing restrictions being one of them.

Indeed! - there are some things the software simply can't do as a one size fits all. Look how poor the text editor is!!!. I will do whatever I can. I format things outside the forum and post them as tables, jpegs or whatever. Johnand and I are battling with the clunky Wiki software at present - but getting there!

@ jctevere
I'm going to get a C250 Coupe pretty soon; I love this car, but in a year I will have to go overseas (Europe) for 3 years tour and I was thinking to ship the car there. The problem is that in order to register the car in Germany the rear blinkers must be amber, not red. My question is: is there any way to replace the original red LED blinkers to amber/orange? I guess if that is not possible I will have to change the whole rear lamps; In this case, do you know how to get those EU rear lamps and have them installed?

I don't think it is possible. Those LEDs are built into the housing, and aren't located on the removable portion of the taillight assembly (if they were it would be possible). But you can simply order the EURO tail lights online for the 2012+ models (just make sure you go to a European or UK parts website so you get the EURO parts). They should be simple plug and play solutions. If you search the forums, there are some users with pre-facelift w204 sedans (c300/c350 and even some c63) that have ordered the EURO new tail lights since they were available in 2011 and retrofitted them onto their cars. You won't have the same issues with wiring, since it is a direct plug and play with our vehicle (I am 99.9% sure, but don't hold me to it if I'm wrong). But you can use their sources for obtaining the EURO parts.

Thank you jctevere, I hoped that swapping US with EURO 2012+ rear lamps would have been plug & play and your answer make me feel more relaxed now. I'll try to get in contact with those members who have already replaced the rear lamps and ask them how they order them. Thank you again.

I did this install this weekend. 10 min from start to finish. It would have been quicker but I did not know for sure where I wanted to locate the detector. If you pull down on the roof liner at the top of the glass you can tuck the cable end in there when you are not using the detector.

DIY HID kit installation:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-c...d-install.html

As far as a DIY oil change, I am not sure on the C250, only did it on my C300. Unfortunately, (or rather fortunately) I don't have to perform my own service on my C250 as I got the prepaid maintenance package this time around.

This information is false. Germany does not require certain colored tail lights if you are Govt/Military. I just bought a US Spec 2013 c350 and have all red tail lights. I got my registration through Heidelberg but since they are closing you will probably go through Ktown.

Also if you havent bought yet you might want to wait. We get a minimum 10% discount on MB (12% for second car), BMW, Mini, Ford, Audi, and I think Porsche offers a slight discount as well. I got the C350 sport package with hk upgrade, parking, lighting package, and keyless go for under US$42k. The cool part is you can go to the factory in Sindelfingen (Just outside of Stuttgart) and get the royal treatment, have a factory tour and then have a concierge "introduce you" to your new car. It was pretty cool.

DIY Spark plug change

Here is my DIY for a spark plug change. I will also be making an airfilter, oilfilter and oil change.

Jubair Ahmed 04-09-2013 12:15 AM

Anyone have anything for a DIY grill removal/exchange on the 2012+ coupes? I've seen a few for the older W204 sedan models but nothing for our car.

190Benz 04-09-2013 08:35 AM

It's the same for the newer model. Just push in the bottom all the way along the bumper toward the radiator. Then you should be able to pull it out with pulling it upward and away from the radiator while holding the top.

Thank you! :)

Is there a DIY oil change for a C350?

Thanks in advance!

dannycuongtl 03-23-2014 01:32 AM

Is that any DIY engine oil change for 2012 c350 coupe ? Is the brake fluid change a must do item on the 2 year maintenance ? Will it affect the warranty if I don't do it ?

Grill Removal/Replacement

Here are some pictures of my grill replacement. Included some helpful comments in the pictures. The video posted for grill removal earlier in this thread makes it look way too easy.:wall: It's not a hard removal/install as long as you know where the tabs are and which direction they should be pushed/pulled.

M276/M278 Direct Injection Service Guide

Hey guys, poking around online for documentation I came across a great guide to have for reference. It's basically the Mercedes M 276 and M278 Direct Injection engine service manual should come in handy for reference and troubleshooting.
