C250 Coupe/Sedan Oil Filter
Hey All,
Was poking around the engine compartment the other day looking for the whereabouts of the engine oil filter. I popped the front engine cover off and didnt see it there. Anyone know where it might be located? Currently 3100 miles and enjoying very minute of it.

The C250 engine is from the M271 family (C230 Kompressor). The oil filter is located at the top right hand corner of the engine in front of the driver side firewall (when you are facing the engine). You will need a special socket to take out the oil filter assembly.

You found it! Also, if you will be doing this yourself, I would recommend you purchase the appropriate socket specifically for removing the oil filter housing. Assenmacher Specialty tools carries this.

As your car is under the factory warranty though, I would recommend you have the dealer the oil change, so should anything happen, you won't be held responsible, etc.

I drained it. I think that "debate" is about whether you have a lift or want to crawl under the car or have a pump capable of pumping the oil out. I have a friend who is a mechanic so that solves my problem.
It was pretty simple just like any other car really

Bringing up an old one here - in the process of googling.
My C250 is sitting downstairs with the hood up and oil filter out right now. How in the hell do you detach the oil filter from the top housing? Mine spins and spins, but no matter how you rock or pull it the damn thing will not come off.

All you have to do is keep receipts for the filter and the oil purchased. Doing it yourself will not void warranty
