my 2011 G37xs is due in 2 months, i love my cars looks and performance. its stock with resegnator delete there for i do love the noise and am on tiptronic all the time downshifting and what not. one problem is i was a lot of gas 10mpg is my avarage daily. i am looking for soemthing better on gas and a bit cheaper monthly payments. a c coupe is deffenitly my solution. i would like to know how much is your daily mpg localy and how often do you fill up. and also having a color problem because i want red interior with either white or silver or maybe black exterior , but im likeing the red exterior with black intertior what do you guys think? here are recent pics of my car thank you

I have a 350 and my average over 11K miles is now around 22. On long highway drives I can get close to 28. City is probably around 20 or so which is most of my driving. I have a white/red and love it. I'm also looking to get out of my remaining lease if you are interested! It's up in December of this year.

lowkeylow 02-13-2013 11:55 PM

Thank you angeloxnet, but its still not official, have to return my G37 first.

Crazy how my 2013 C250 gets around same MPG... And yours is a V6....

ralawren 02-14-2013 10:09 AM

The V6 in the C350 Coupe does not work very hard to get you around town. I am only at 1500-2000 RPM most of the time and my average MPG over 17K miles is 25MPG. That is with a short 6 mile commute to the train station during week days and running around in the country on weekends.

C350 Owner

Good choice going for the C coupe. I've had my coupe since May 2012 and I still havent seen another one on the road. I have the C350 and its Black with Red leather the car looks incredible with this combo. But red leather is like a 6-8 week wait its special order unless the dealer ordered one just for their stock. It is very hard to find one for 2012 with Black and Red leather combo there were only 4 of them in the USA

If you much choose between the C250 and the C350 go for the C350 you'll have more power (feels like a V8) and larger brakes, and the sound is excellent when you punch it out. I hate the turbo lag in these 4cly models. Sold my 2011 Audi because of it.

Millage is 19-22 city and 28-29 highway. Just drove from Charlotte NC to Orlando Fl and got 28-29mpg and thats driving 80-100mph all the way. This car can really fly.

gwi42 02-14-2013 12:29 PM

Or if turbo lag isnt an issue for you then check out the new 2014 CLA I think this car looks amazing it will be be popular but I think it will be oversold.

The CLA looks a lot more than a $30-35k car. It looks gold. Very bulky and well designed. I would be all over it if it offered a coupe version... Perhaps in 2 years I will consider it.

Congrats on your new C Coupe your going to love it regardless of variant that's always a personal choice :)

Just a pity though some markets don't have the CDI on offer because if it's the combination of power and efficiency your wanting that's the choice pick, hopefully in future all markets will get access to the CDI's :)

It's AWD ! same set up as the A45 variant which is due for release soon :)

It's set up with a bias on FWD with normal driving with up to 50% power being delivered to the rear wheels when required MB have done it that way to try and extract max. efficiency which they claim will be low 6's ltrs/100km :)

There are threads elsewhere but here's more info for those interested in the AMG A Class:

Apologies I jumped the gun I'm assuming your definitely going to get yourself a new MB C350 Coupe :)

Is that considered high or low? lol

jctevere 02-16-2013 05:41 PM

Instead of quoting everyone, I will just summarize the answers to various quesitons and my thoughts/experience.

The CLA is FWD, but also has a AWD variant (unsure if this will be available on launch day, or at a later time like the C350 coupe). It is a great looking car and something I will seriously consider after my C250.

I too had a 2008 G37 coupe. The MPG was TERRIBLE, especially if you drive like I do. I had an automatic and in that year it had a crappy 5 speed gearbox, I have heard the newer 7 speed is much better though. The 5speed caused the car to be sluggish on the highway. I have even done unofficial races from a roll with my modified C250 coupe vs a 2008 G37 from around 30/40 - 110 mph. I kept up with him until around 80 and then he started to pull away. Finished one car length behind him. Not bad at all if you ask me.

As far as MPG goes. The C350 does get much better MPG than the G37, v6 vs v6, albeit, slightly down on power. But with that said, the C350 gets great fuel economy for a v6 in general. However, someone mentioned above that its funny how a C350 gets the same almost as a C250 and its a v6.

This isn't really true in terms of real world fuel economy. The ratings are very similar officially, but I am able to average upwards of 42mpg in my C250 with highway driving. And lifetime average of around 28mpg (50/50 highway/city) on my brothers C250 coupe. On my C250 coupe where I drive it like an aboslute MANIAC, I average lifetime 23.6mpg - mainly city over 20k miles. While this sounds bad, to put this in perpective. For the same driving conditons my G37 would average 9-12 mpg and my prior C300 average 19mpg. So I am very happy.

Lease numbers vary widley depending on lease incentives and rates at time of lease. I have by far gotten the best deals possible (which were last jan when they first came out). We leased 2 C250's. Both are slightly different optioned but with a sticker of about 43-44k and we put total out of pocket $2,500 and pay $299 a month for a 24 month lease and 12k miles per year including pre-paid maintenance. Absolutely amazing deal - almost as cheap as it would to lease a nissan.

2013 C250, 24 mo lease, 0 down, 12k miles/yr, fully loaded (Sports, P1, Multimedia)... $420/mo with maintenance covered, w/o maintenance $409/mo.

Our price difference is about a little over $3k. I'd say yours is pretty fair depending on what packages you have...

johnny--2k 02-17-2013 04:51 PM

My car stickered for 50,150. Lane Tracking, P1, Lighting, Command, Multi Media, Keyless, Full Leather. I also did 0 down, maint included.

Hope this helps.

My Black C350 w/ Red Leather For Sale
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2012-...orcev4exp=true

My MPG is roughly 23.5 Overall and I'm usually doing 80-85 on Highways
http://www.fuelly.com/driver/aceking4u/c350

Longer Road Trips you're looking at approximately 27-30 MPG, depending on hills, RPM, etc...

bhcubed 02-21-2013 02:49 PM

I came from an '08 G37s coupe and now have a C250 coupe. The biggest reasons I went with the C250 over another G37 was the fuel economy, better technology, more options for same price, and the trunk space. I had a smaller wheeled cooler, that I could not fit in the trunk of the G, the C takes it no problem. lol. I do miss the performance of the G, but with the turbo in the C and in Sport mode, it's still pretty quick.

Ubiquitous5 02-21-2013 08:05 PM

Just got a loaner vehicle for the first 10k service. The C250 was very laggy. Even the C350 won't be as quick as the G37, but it definitely won't be as efficient (thanks to the 7 speed).

Driving the C250 for 24 hours and based on fuelly.com, the C250 MPG is not that much better than a C350 coupe (at least based on my normal highway routes).

MaDd 02-22-2013 01:42 AM

i used to have a manual g37 coupe which had similar numbers to the auto (non-awd version) and it did nowhere near 10mpg like you guys are talking about. i'd like to note that i drove that car hard because i was addicted to the dual intake growl and the exhaust rumble. not sure how the new g37s with the 7spd autos compare

having said that, my c350 has a noticeable improvement in mpg, and i couldnt be happier about that. as someone mentioned, the C is a better built car that has a much nicer interior, a much bigger trunk and drives a lot smoother. however, the downside is that everything you gain in comfort you lose in performance. my C does not feel very sporty. if you intend on moving on to a car that has a similar drive to the G, then you'll be disappointed; especially if you chose the 250. however, according to your original post, it sounds like your priorities are having a great car with decent mileage AND a low payment.. in which case, i think the c250 is exactly what you need

Ubiquitous5 02-22-2013 01:06 PM

If you want to downgrade a little with the interior....I would look into a F30 328i or grab a good deal on a N55 Coupe.

Im still lostminded on what I really want. Yes i am use to the speed and going to a c250 or 350 coupe I wouldnot have the same performance. But yet again a part of me says grow up who cares no matter what somwone will always have a better and faster car than you so what do you really need speed for. But then for personal enjoyment I love pushing it here and thete and to know I habw power. So im stuck
