Newbie: Question regarding models

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and generally to the Mercedes World!

I'm currently looking into buying a 2012/13 C204 Coupe. I have found two (one 2012 and the other 2013 model) and they have a very small difference which I would like to know if it means anything.

The 2012 one has three rows in the front grill and the 2013 model two. Since I don't really know much about Mercedes, is this a factory thing meaning that it's a way to identify specific models (or even region of built) or is it clearly an aftermarket replacement/personal preference of the owner?

Sorry if the question is stupid :)

Thanks in advance!

Ok it seems my question might not be very stupid afterall. From wikipedia:

The Classic and Elegance lines retain the traditional Mercedes-Benz radiator grille, with a vertical three-point star hood emblem and are designed to appeal to traditional luxury car buyers. The Avantgarde and AMG have a similar grille, with three horizontal bars and a large centre-mounted star.

I always thought that the Coupé has two horizontal rows and the sedan has three. Maybe not? Could be the models released here in Australia work out that way.

My 2015 coupe had a two bar grill but mine did not have any AMG package options. It may be that one has the AMG line styling and the other does not, or it could be that one owner like the 3 bar more than two and swapped them. I went the other way and swapped a 1 bar like the C63.

I really don't see any difference in the 2012 - 2015 C250 coupe(s).

They all share the same timeless good looks, really decent fuel economy and - at least in my case - issue free ownership.

I must admit to some bias here.

Fuelly.com shows 25 miles per gallon over about 12,000 miles.

I obviously like the car. My better half loves it........and that's good (it's her car).
