Change Cabin Air Filter, Need a DIY.
My car only has 8000 miles after 2 years and now it is time for the B service...for which I refuse to be raped by MB. I can easily change the oil and oil filter, but I'l like to see some direction on how to change the cabin filter (a must on the B service.) I have done a fair amount of Googling for a DIY video, but haven't come up with anything specific to the 205W engine in my C-300 coupe (4-cyc, 2L Turbo.) So, I'd appreciate it if someone could direct me to some DIY instructions or video. BTW, as I don't have a lift and I won't be able to do the brake fluid flush (a B requirement the indy guy can do that for me.
Oh yeah, of course I'm using MB approved oil and oem oil filter, but I was wondering if one has to use an oem cabin air filter or can one use a reasonable replacement...without screwing up the warranty?

Hey SAT, thanks for the video. Yeah, I have the video, but forgot that I had it. Simple job for which only god knows how much MB charges? Actually, I called the MB parts department and found out this about the cost of the air cabin and dust filter...most amazing! The MB OEM cabin is $80 and the dust is $29 to which you can add MB labor somewhere between $140-175/hour. This probably means that just letting MB change the filters can cost around $175 (figuring they take you for at least 1/2 labor.) Now follow this: Autonation parts department (my MB stealership) has a generic cabin and dust filters for $24 and $15, respectively...this is much more in line with about what one could pay for Mann or Mahle fliters. So, for my car which will only have about 14K miles at turn in, the generic will be perfect.

Thought it was a simple job until I tried to remove the left side cable (the one to the sensor) from the glove box lower cover. CAn't figure out how to unplug and don't want to mess too much as I probably with break something. Anyone out there able to help?

It just pulls out of the air temp sensor. It will require some force, but it comes out. You can also turn the sensor and unclip it from the panel and leave it loose while changing the filter, then re-install in reverse.

Hey Joe, thanks for the correct input. It took 230+ views before an answer came up. Obviously, not many folks on this form are into DIY.

Can you please help me to replace cabin filter for C207, 2017 E400 coupe. I removed 3 screws and 2 electrical connectors, but the panel will not come out. Something is holding it. Please help, thanks!

Replied to your PM. I believe the hook is holding you if anything, but if you got the electrical connections out, it should be down enough to come out.
