Belt tensioner/shock replacement

I've been searching for a few hours for possible photos/steps of how to do this. My tensioner pulley bearing let loose and it looks like my tensioner shock is nowhere to be found. Could someone provide some pictures/insight as to how the shock/tensioner itself all comes together. I removed the tensioner pulley/assembly to get ready to put the new stuff on. For reference my car is a 99 C280 2.8l 6cylinder. Thanks in advance!

anyone? I'm sure I could figure this out on my own but I would rather have step by step instructions.

dude,

i had my mechanic do this for me. but with me watching. first they took out the radiator then the radiator fan then loosened the belt then the tensioner pulley.

we just replaced the bearing and the whole assembly had a machine pressed out than in the new bearing. i think posted how we did it and the costs of the materials somewhere.

try backreading the threads.

I just did my tensioner and believeme there is NO need to pull the radiator. You can use a socket to get at the bolts they are torque head bo;ts and there are two of them. Easyest way is to remove the pulley first then the tensioner. Just reverse the taking out to replace. Remember on the new tensioner to take out the piece of metal holding the tensioner closed. Be careful this is spring loaded. Put the tensioner back on tighten the torque bolts(x2) and replace the pulley. Simple replacement. I would also replace the belt if your doing the pulley. Most belt boxes have a diagram of how the belt goes on the pulleys.

ahh that's what I couldn't figure out. That metal piece needs to be removed eh? I took it to a shop and they did for me for fairly cheap but next time I'll know better. Still in the learning process with these but I knew there was no reason to pull the radiator out. I got the belt diagram off google after searching for awhile. There's tons of belt variations. Also, I didn't realize this but no tensioner shock is needed for my engine. I have one but the garage didn't put it on. I've been driving it for a couple hundred miles this way with no issues/noises.
