Ignition Key Won't Turn
 
I suspect the tumbler has failed on my 1996 C220. Is there a procedure for replacing the lock assembly and switch?

So the key wont turn??? at all.. Sorry to tell you if the key wont turn you have to drill out the steering lock.. Youll need a lock and tumbler.

Try to get it to turn with some wd 40 or liquid graphite it will save you time and money

Will try and get it to turn again.

If I dont get it to turn is it the same procedure as in the 124 chassis?

Got a new key already. Needs a new tumbler. Wondering if there is a procedure out there for the C.

Did you try tugging the steering wheel to one side...hard..then trying it ?

Yep. Even lifted the front off the ground to take pressure off the lock.
