How do you install that? I got that cassette tape thingy and it would be perfect to have that holder...cuz I don't use that tape holder. And how much did it cost?

Remove the two screws holding in the cassette holder. Then it should pull out.

If anyone wants to donate/sell their old cassette holder, I will take it.

Another kind soul sent me one and I wanted to send him some cash back but he didn't answer my mail for his address! So I appreciate it. But then it got installed in my friend's car, so I still need one.

Ummm... to hold cassettes? I am an audiophile and we prefer analog sound sources to digital.

I'm also interested to swap the cassette holder for the sunglasses/coin pocket.....think $14 is not that bad for it.....but my question is: how to get the factory radio out, to access those two screws that hold the cassette holder in place? (Hopefully I'll get to replace the factory radio pretty soon, have my eye on one ot those Blaupunkt MP3 head units..... :-)

You don't have to remove the stereo to get the cassette holder out. If you look underneath the stereo, or feel under it, you will see two screws, phillips I believe. Get a small enough screw driver and take those two screws out and the cassette holder should slide out.

Then the coin/tray holder will use those two same screws and secure it into place.

OK, thanks I looked and they were exactly where you said they would be.....one quick trip to the dealer next week and we're in buisiness....I still want to change the factory stereo though, that's why I need to know how to take the stock unit out.....anyone knows how to take off and where to buy adaptor for the harness? already tried www.crutchfield.com but they haven't measured the c-class yet....

Yea, ok. You need two keys to "unlock" the deck unit. It's like two "Y-Keys", they fit into the slot on the bottom of each corner of the deck...u should see them. The keys stick in there and u can pull the entire unit out, exposing the wires, etc. The harness, you should be able to get at any place that sells car stereo...try Tweeter, Bestbuy, Circuit City. As for the keys, look on ebay or check online. I had mine done at bestbuy, so I couldn't tell you where to look.

let me know how the coin tray turns out...gonna do that as soon as I get back to work for summer.

just swapped the cassette holder for the OEM coin tray....so much better.....cost about $11 from BMA, but the added space is really useful, for sunglasses etc......

special thanks to Rincewind for posting the pictures of the cointray and the part #...... :-)

I just called the stealership and they wanted $22.43 plus tax for the tray. I was like, f@#$ that. And they changed the part number now, its a bunch of numbers then letters...grrr.

I went to that site that vas2vas suggested and ordered it. They have OEM mercedes parts and it was $11.50 plus $3 shipping. Should get here soon hopefully.
