Suddenly doesn't start???
I had the weirdest thing happen just a little while ago. I've been running around all day doing errands. It's about 104 degrees outside today and I guess I've been running the car pretty hard, considering the conditions outside. I get home at about 3:30 and I leave the car in the garage for about an hour. I got back out at 4:30 and it suddenly doesn't want to start. It didn't act like a starter or alternator problem, all of my gauges are showing normal signs, temp's a bit higher than normal, but not in the red, and there's not idiot lights on. I finally got it to start after giving it a little gas while tunring the ignition. I shut the car off a couple seconds after it started and turned it over again and it fired right up. I proceeded to drive to work, doing everything as I normally would, hit about 65-70 mph, the tranny's smooth and there's no hesitation and/or funny noises. I called the dealer and spoke with a tech and they said to bring it in if it does it again. Anyone ever had this problem or have any insights? I'm probably going to post this in tech too.

104 degrees out did u happen to see the engine temp when u were running the car? maybe engine coolant is low adn it overheated
either that or your battery is starting to get weak |
Like I said, the temp gauge wasn't in the danger area. It was just above the notch below 120. Plus there was no steam or anything to indicate an overheat. I haven't checked the coolant level yet, I'll do that.

It is not unusual to have to give it a bit of gas when the engine is hot.
It is actually in the user manual. |
hey, yea dw about it. i didn't have any probs in the heat today since i'm near u, Houston. i have experianced this with other cars and it's no biggie. normal stuff. :)

Well, I've had it out all night and haven't seen the problem again. I didn't know this was a real normal thing, but now that I think about it I remember having some similar incidents with outher cars. Oh well, probably nothing.

Man, I had the same exact thing happen to me 3 weeks ago... My engine wasn't that hot though I don't think, but probably was... cause after I tapped the gas, it fired right up.

Cranking AMPS...
Check your bat-tree. It may have enough power to run the electronics but the crankng AMPS may be down.
