Hey guys.

I have a 99 c230. The AC didn't work when I got it.

My mechanic emptied the system and filled it with freon. It worked for a few days and then my dad pressed the circulation button and pressed the EC button and then it stopped working.

My mechanic then emptied it again, there was a ton of pressure when he opened it. He filled it again with dye, it worked again for a few days and then stopped working again. This time, without pressing any buttons.

Any ideas?

 

Not being for sure what type of climate control system you have, mine is of the lcd type not the dial. Also mine is a 96 c280 so their is some difference. Here we go, if you have the lcd type control check out fupabox on youtube. If I knew how to post the link I would sorry. But the name of the said video is, Mercedes climate control fault codes and reset procedure c230. He walks you thru all the trouble codes and tells you what each one is. Some of the codes deal with a/c bar pressure, a/c temp, and a slew of other things. Hope this helps some.

When you say it stops working.....does it stop blowing? It's blowing, but not blowing cold? Has he checked to see if the dye presented any leaks.

 

Right. It blows very weak. I can only feel some breeze from the center fan vent and nothing from the left or right. Even when I put it up to high (5) on the dial. There were no leaks from the dye.

He's telling me, let's empty it and do it again. I already paid $160.00 to him, $80,00 each time to refill the AC unit.
