engine temp a little high at times?
ive noticed that my c280 has a higher temp once in a while, especially during a stop. it reaches 90 degrees and then after accelerating, drops to just above 80 degrees. is this normal?

As a matter of fact, I just noticed the engine temp in my car today. When I was driving down the freeway I was at 90 degrees the whole time, isn't that kinda hot?

Depends on your surrounding/immediate area temps. I live in Boston, so right now, the weather is usually in the 40's, low 50's at times. Engine temp is usually just below 80 degree's if not at 80 at all times.
In the morning when it's 30's, stays about 60 degree's till i hit the highway then it's 80.
Usually when I reach 90 would be like summer time with the A/C on...but I don't think I would worry about it too much. Check coolants and stuff to make sure.
