Car won't shift
 

I went outside to start my car this morning in the bitter cold and it started up just fine. When I went to shift from Park, it was stuck. Apparently there is a manual release in a flap just below where the D is. That got me shifting except now i have to manually release it with a ballpoint pen to get out of Park each time. Has anyone had this happen to them before? What kind of repair am I looking at? Luckily I have an extended warranty.

do you happen to live in the new england area where its been exceptionally cold lately? ive noticed a lot of cars having been screwed up because of the cold or something recently, esp my C280...it goes for service tomorrow morning
