Oil light going on and off in W202 C230k.

My oil light goes on for a few seconds, 15 at the most and then goes off. It is more likely to come on when going uphill but then goes off when going downhill. It also goes off when i restart the car. Could it be an oil level sensor? I hope it's nothing more serious like an oil leak or an oil pump, i changed the oil 3 weeks ago and last checked it a week ago and the level was good.

Checked oil again today and the dipstick was dry above the minimum mark. Which means i have a leak somewhere, i hear the most common place for it to leak is the oil level sensor.

If you have a leak of that much, there should be an oil patch on the ground under the engine.
I assume it's not burning oil?

The other potential leak area is around the cam shaft sensors. But again, look for oil on the ground

I didn't notice anything on the ground, probably since i have a skid plate underneath the engine. I did notice it puffed smoke when starting cold though. So probably a piston ring or valve seals.

I would advise you to slide a piece of cardboard directly under the pan when you top up the oil to full. Run it up to operating temperature and let it sit. You will find out soon enough then.
If it's just a puff of oil on start up, probably valve stem seals. If someone drives behind you, get them to check if the oil stream from the exhaust is constant. You would smell it anyway. Also, pulling the plugs and seeing their condition will also tell you.
From the amount you were down in the short period of time, I would expect there would be a cloud of blue smoke, and not a puff.
