Code P1444
I have a 96 C220 throwing a P1444 code. I have changed the purge valve and found a bad hose on the gas overflow tank that I have also replaced. Still throwing the code. I have followed the tubings all over the car and don't see any other bad ones. Can anyone suggest what else I may look at?

I replaced and checked the driver side valve, directly in front of the windshield washer reservoir, which I thought was the correct valve. Where is the passenger side valve located? There are not two valves directly side by side.

The valve I changed is on the driver side not the passenger side, in front of the washer fluid reservoir. Is there another somewhere? I have followed the lines as best I could, back to the carbon filter then across to the overflow tank. I changed a couple of hoses but the rest look OK.
Do you know where the pressure sensor is? Maybe that is the problem, but I haven't found it.

Yes. I ordered the wrong valve the first time, it had green hose connections and square prongs. The one I changed had black hose connections and round prongs. Wonder where the one with green connections goes. Maybe that is the one I need to change.

As it turns out, there is another solenoid valve and a pressure sensor under the windshield washer reservoir. The vacuum line that connects the two was severed. I have replaced it and believe that the problem is now solved. I need to drive around a bit more and make sure no codes are thrown, and hopefully I will get the car inspected. Thanks for everyone's help!

So, naturally, it threw a check engine light again. However, this time it was P0411. Got under the car and looked at the blower fan and saw the hose was off. Put it back on, added a hose clamp, and I believe we are all good, finally.
Driving around to get everything clear and then hopefully this car will pass inspection!

I should tell you all that I recently bought this car (for $500, 97,000 miles), and it was sitting for a long time, probably years. I have done a bunch of work, and been getting it going again, and the last two things are this check engine light and the headliner. (my$500 car is now a $1800 car 
)
