how little is too little?
my grandfather has a '99 C230k, purchased in '98.
as of right now, it only has 24k miles. That's 4k / year!
Is that unhealthy for a car? He only drives it once a week, if that at all.

i doubt any mechanical problems will arise if you just leave you car sitting there (generally speaking, the more you use you car, the more problems will arise because miles pile up, as you well know). i'd be worried about getting bubbles in the tires if anything...

yeah, he's still on original tires :p
but I use to only drive my car once a week when I was living on campus my freshman year last year...but the tires were fine.

well my 94 bmw 318is has 41k km... that's a little more than 25k miles, or 2.5K miles every year...
absolutely nothing will happen to the car as lond as it does not stay unused for an unusually long period of time...

well you still have to change tires, even though the original tires had 85% tread left on them, because the rubber starts cracking over the years and you might get a blowout, plus the tires won't pass the MOT inspection...

My girlfriend's grandmother just sold her 88 Chrysler 5th Avenue with 12,000 miles. original tires and everything. She drove it to church once a week and to the grocery on saturday. Both were less than 2 miles away. That's pretty much all she ever drove it.

Mine's a 1995 C 280 that was bought in January of 2002 with only 44K on it. That's only 6.2K a year. Then I got a hold of it in April of 2003 and it now has roughly 75K on it. Still has Starmark till 2005.
