good chase scene involving a C280

Here's a video a friend and I made last weekend involving my C280 and his Grand Cherokee. I've cut down the movie to just the car chase- hope youe enjoy

Funny how both vehicles' pedals were to the metal and neither were going faster than 75.

mbtech208: In reply to what you said, yes, the pedals were to the floor, but you have to remember, we were taking hard gravel turns, and that cuts down on the speed. You could find many things during the chase that are wrong, but hey, is was a film for extra credit for my chemistry class, don't be too critical. By the way, you got a hell of a car for a movie, why don't you go out and see what you can do.
Thanks for your commentary though.

Very well done on the video. But how the heck is that extra credit for a "chemistry" class?!?!?!?!

well the movie is about a chemistry teacher (driving the jeep) who discovers a secret element, that the government (me in the benz) is trying to get from him. We wrote the half-*** story around the car chase, because thats the only part people care about- right? but it got us a perfect score plus some extra credit.

the car itself had been involved in a minor accident before I bought it, and was actually cheaply repainted. So, yes I've given it a few minor scratches from the gravel performing various manuvers in this video and others, but its a white car, on its second coat of cheap paint, so they don't stand out nearly as much.

no I haven't made any mods on it yet- I'd love to get my hands on a set of sport springs and shocks for it, but I don't like the whole "slammed" look. How expensive would it be to put a set of AMG springs/shocks on it? Where would be the best place to get it?

IMO, you should get rims and suspension done together; not one or the other.

AMG stuff? i dunno about those but i know that they arent much different from regular C280 suspension parts. im planning on getting K&N springs (not quite sure, tirerack.com if all else fails; ~$225) with Bilstein shocks (bimmerparts.com; ~$300).

installation should be a breeze if you have the right tools (spring compressor, metric set ratches and wrenches, etc) and have some knowledge of vehicle suspension. the member Nokia over at club202 is supposed to be posting up a DIY soon, also. if not, installation from a mechanic should run you about ~$50 per corner.
