C300 best cheap tires
 

Hello intelligent people of this forum,
i have a Mercedes Benz c300 2013 model. I got this car in 2015 and I am looking to trade it in and get something new In 8-12 months. My car needs new tires. My question is what will be the best cheap tires I can get for my car ?

Looking for input on new tires for a C300 Sport standard 6.5L V6. Stealer recommend the Michelin and I have looked at the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ but wanted to hear from what other people have switched to or if everyone sticks to the Continentals. Also, if people have had any issues with a particular tire that I should avoid.

Thanks for the information, I just bought this car and need tires, found them at discount tire for less and have some rebates as well. I did not find the altimax artic 12s online but will ask them this tomorrow. Just to confirm though, the tire noise was low as well?

Since the Arctic-12s are a winter tire, most places won’t have them until they restock again in late summer.

Winter tires always seem a bit louder than summer tires—that’s just how they are with the softer rubber and open tread design—but the Arctic’s weren’t objectionable. MBs have quiet cabins so you don’t notice the tread noise until you drive with the windows down and the sunroof open. The hum is a good reminder to swap out your tires for the summer.

Here in Denver, we had 8” of spring snow and ice a couple of days ago but it’s almost time to switch.

Where in Denver are you? I was in Colorado for 20 years, moved back to MN in 2008. I ordered the Generals this morning and will get them installed tomorrow. I am assuming you get the snows for all four tires, the "find your tires" option did not show the option for fronts and backs. They are the same staggered function I assume.

For winter tires, i run the same size front and back, a little narrower than OEM stock. Normally, I pick up a set of alloy rims off CL or similar. It’s much easier, faster and cheaper to do the seasonal swaps that way. If you reuse your stock rims you might have to keep the stagger.

Check your manual, it may show the recommended snow tire sizes.

Sometimes I decrease the rim diameter—it depends on the car—because I like having less metal and more rubber during the winter.
