Will rims off a '97 E-Class fit the w202

My girlfriend is buying a '96 C220. I have the stock rims off of my '97 E300 and wanted to use those rims and buy a set of snow tires for the winter.

Will these rims fit without any problems, offset, etc?

The Tire Rack's wheel selection shows the 8-hole 16x7.5 ET40 wheels as an upgrade option for the 96 C220.

The stock 97 E300 wheels are 16x7.5 ET41 I believe? Pretty sure they'll fit...

damn.. been spending too much time reading about these things...

anyway, I have actually seen a picture of a W202 with those exact wheels.. can't seem to find it though..

We took the 16" wheels off our 98 E-Class and used them for winter tires on our C36. Fit (JUST cleared the brakes, whew...) fine. They would easily fit any W202. Just use the 205/55-16 size tire, not the 215's that the E-Class uses.

what are the best possible tires to get on the w202 i mean if money is not an option, and i plan on getting 18 or 19 rims soon, so if that changes it, also i don't need any of that all seasons crap, I live in so cal so the only real season we have in southern california is burning hell, so negate winter or cold or rain or whatever tires for me please, thankyou

Were you able to use the same lugs from the 15" wheels from the w202 originally or did you need the lugs from the w210?

so if an aftermarket wheel has GREATER offset than the stock wheel, it may not clear the brake caliper? i thought it was the other way around.
