1999 C280 Radio display has no light

The radio works fine, sounds great. The display went out. I can still see the stations in the day time, but at night its hard to see without
a flash light. I need the light!
Model of the radio is BE 3309

p.s THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT WILL FIX IT FOR 125.00. I WOULD LIKE TO DO IT MYSELF.
