ah, holy crap! A puddle of oil...

Ah, man. I woke up this morning and found a small (about the diameter of a softball) puddle of oil under my car. This has happened once or twice in the past three weeks, but not every time I park the car. When should I start to worry? engine runs at 80 degrees fahrenheit consistently... Oh man, hope this isn't going to turn into a major repair. any help or ideas are appreciated. Thanks-

look under the hood and remove the cover. Do you see any oil or parts of the engine that look "wet"?

Probably some gasket issues, but will get worse over time.

AHHH crapola

Ah, SCHIESE! Gaskets. Not what I wanted to hear. Guess it could be worse... I was hoping you'd say "oh, well your crush bearing on the bottom of the oil pan needs to be replaced." Thanks for your suggestion. No parts look "wet." On the bottom of the plastic pannel on the undercarriage (guards scraping in case of bottoming out I think) there was a bit of oily substance- could've been from the road though, not sure. Anyone else have an idea?

Vielen Dank! Diese Probleme hat mich verrukt gemacht!

it could be the washer. Did you have your oil changed lately?

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
dont worry just yet... could be something as easy as a seal. bring it to an independent shop for diagnosis and report back. if cars running good and the operating temp is right it might be something small, but dont wait to find out.

Last time it happened to me, it was the transmission gasket went bad.
So I got the transmission oil and filter changed as well.
