Question about Oil Change.
Unfortunately, when I purchased my car I had a very bad experience with the salesman/dealership I dealt with. I was promised a free oil change before the scheduled maintenance. I took my vehicle in at 6,000 miles for the free oil change I was promised and they tried to squirm out of it by saying it was not necessary and that the salesman would never promise this service. Long story short, they finally agreed to do it. Problem is at this dealer you cannot see the work being performed. I have my doubts that they did anything at all. How can I find out if they actually changed the oil/filter? Any ideas?
Thanks

You could take off the filter cover, then check the condition of the filter, and more importantly, the washer(s) (don't know how many the new ones have). Still could be fresh enough for you to be able to check if they were changed.
Or, just keep up on what the FSS says - since it does check the oil quality, if it does not start at roughly 10-12k, and go down with your odometer, then you know that something's fishy.
Next time, get it in writing on the sales agreement; chalk it up to lesson learned, and enjoy the car.
