7G TRONIC CONFIRMED on 2006 C Class Line

FINALLY!! An answer from Mercedes Benz itself. Well at least, Mercedes Benz Canada. The answer should be the same for Merecedes Benz USA though.

The Entire 2006 C Class Line will be available with the optional 7 Speed Automatic Transmission 7G TRONIC!!!

Here is the reply I got:

Thank you for your interest in Mercedes-Benz. The 2006 C-Class line up (excluding C55 AMG) will be equipped with the 7-speed automatic transmission as an option. We expect the 2006 C-brochures to become available in the next couple of months.

Best regards,

My Question posed to MB is below:

Comment or Question: I am looking to purchase a 2006 C Class, either the all new V6 C230, C280 or C350. Can you provide me with a concrete answer on whether the 2006 C230 and C280 will also receive the optional 7 speed automatic transmission 7GTRONIC like the 2006 C350?

Also, when do you expect 2006 C Class Brochures to be produced and distributed if they are not already available?

Conclusion:
The all new 2006 V6 MB C230 Sport Sedan with 202 HP and either the 6 Speed Manual or 7 Speed Automatic is going to be worth every penny and be one of the best values around

if the 7G-tip shifts as slow as the current 5-auto/tip tranny when manualy tipping then it doesn't matter... just two more gears...

I wan to see some software for the M271 ECU that makes the tiptronic control more aggressive.

the tip shift of the 7G is much more responsive then the current 5G auto. also when you down shift it selects the lowest possible gear without redlining, rather than the driver downsifting until he/she finds the lowest gear.

thanks for the info Mason00.

i honestly didnt think the 230 and 280 would get them. awesome that they are.

buddy at MB isn't too sure about the 230 getting them.

AMG body kit won't be there in the next 230 though

personal opinion, the sad thing putting the AMG kit on the sport sedans (non-AMG) models, i feel it takes away from AMG being distinctive, or more distinguishable. im glad they arent carrying it over to 2006.

It is 100% confirmed my man. Mercedes Benz Canada has gotten all engine and transmission info for the 2006 C Class Line and the C230, C280 and C350, all V6 Engines mind you, will be available with the 7GTRONIC.

Your buddy is damn right.......HE ISN'T TOO SURE

100% Confirmation from Mercedes Benz Canada. There will definately not be any difference with Merecedes Benz USA regarding engines and transmissions. That is a fact. Stop being skeptical.

Not to be a terd, but what makes you so certain? Saying 100% is pretty ballsy if you ask me. I would at least claim 95% certain to leave a little room for error. For the same reason that canada will continue importing the Coupe and the US will not. That is a fact too. Stop not being so skeptical. :p

Kidding...

Hmmmm...

To paraphrase a famous line:

Until I hear Mercedes, the fat lady in the US, sing, then it's not 100%.

The e-mail did not confirm (or asked about) engine specifics, and only confirmed the 7-sp. transmissions in "the 2006 C-Class line up". There really have been no official M-B (USA or Canada) press releases, M-B website info, write-ups, ect. regarding the exact lineup for US or Canadian '06 C's (other than the C350 replacing the C320).

I think Canadians are getting their engine info from someone posting stuff back in November over at a Canadian M-B forum. He/She said the "President" of a stealership in Ontario told them the lineup after some meeting.
