Can't decide on a kit!!

Holy crap, I've gone through so many different kits in the last few weeks.

First, Rieger, then Wald, than Expression, New Rieger, Brabus, and finally Carlsson. I'm having a really hard time deciding and I was hoping you could help me out.

According to many people, the Rieger and Wald kits look "rice" and are too low to the ground. Too bad they are also the least expensive.

And the expression kit, I've found that in some pics, it looks great but in others, it's not as impressive.

The New Rieger looks great but I have very little information on it.

The Brabus is also stunning but expensive and I still have no idea how much it would cost in total (help me out).

And carlsson. Looks quite good, but on the site, there are like, 2-3 different bumpers and is there NO side skirts? And how much does it cost?!

Could any of you please clear up these questions. If you know just one, it'd help me out a lot. Thanks a great deal.

take bits from each, thats teh best way

Some Specific Questions:

Carlsson
---------
On the site, it says there are 2 front lips, 4 rear lips, and they don't list the side skirts.
What are the differences between these?
Since it's a lip, it attaches to my existing bumper?
How much does it cost?
Where can I buy it?
Can you post pics of the different front lips/rear lips?

Thanks a lot.

Btw, I DID do a search on this, but in all of the old threads, the pictures don't come up.

There is two Carlsson kits. One is the CR-S kit which is a complete new front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper. This is quite expensive as I know the front bumper retails for like $1500.
The other is an add on lip. It is attached to the existing bumper. For the price it is a less expensive way to make your car look lower and definitely not as low as the Wald kit. I have seen both lip spoilers and the Carlsson lip is by far the best.
I know of a place who has the lip spoiler in stock. PM me and I'll send you the details. Good Luck.

Way to be totally unhelpful. Of course, I've sent emails to at least four different sites enquiring about their kits. If you don't feel like helping or don't know, just keep to yourself.

And to ggong, thanks for your clarification.

I actually found a site that sells the Carlsson in the US.

http://www.carlssonproductsusa.com/store/

I'm leaning more and more towards the Brabus because the Carlsson lip just isn't prominent enough.

http://www.mercedesperformance.co.uk/pdfs/W203C.pdf

This pdf has a great summary of several of the kits with their prices.

I found the price for the Brabus in English pounds, but notice the arch it has in the middle of the front bumper? What is that? In most of the pictures I've found, it's not there.

Edit:
http://www.eurorev.com/brand/index.p...cat=31&parent=
This link has prices for the Brabus Kit.

Can someone please clarify the difference between these kits?

Jim Banville Mar 20, 2005 01:32 PM

Someone please TELL this guy what he likes and what to buy!

dchou Mar 20, 2005 02:02 PM

Lol, yeah, it's a tough decision cause I can't afford to just change it if I don't like it. I'm thinking Brabus Front, Amg Rear, and Carlsson Side skirts. Opinions?

"Opinions"?
If you think it looks good, buy it.

This site is so helpful. Thanks everyone who helped out. You are all so so helpful. :wall:

I think Ggong was the only one who answered a question. :y

Seriously, does anyone know what the difference is between the Brabus fronts (Brabus Front vs. Brabus Front with Integrated Spoiler)?

ggong5150 Mar 20, 2005 04:25 PM

If you change with different body parts it will look weird IMO. The lines of the car will be screwed up. For instance if you go with a Brabus front with AMG side skirts and the Carlsson rear, the bottom of the car may not flow well. The AMG side skirts stick out so may not go with the Carlsson rear or the Brabus front. But if you like it then go ahead!

Do you not have your own computer and/or telephone ?...get off your a$$ and do your own researching....

dchou Mar 20, 2005 06:10 PM

One of the reasons for the existence of this forum is that people can ask questions and give help. Some other people may know already or may have past experience. You don't have to be a jacka$s. Why didn't you get off your a$$ and do your researching about your "Front End Alignment"?

It's because of a$sholes like you that forums die. Get a life.

You have started FIVE threads since last November asking people which body kit you should buy! If you haven't made up your mind by now, just give up :hammer:

Not only can't you make your own decisions on what you think is "cool" or not, you can't read either...

that old post dealt with what I was being told from two different sources THRU doing research on what exactly it takes to complete a front end alignment and myself wanting a third option. Compare this to your thread about a kit that your too lazy to look up pictures and prices for and too insecure to make your own decisions on....

Nice try, noob.. :slap:

dchou Mar 20, 2005 07:11 PM

Well I'm glad to hear that everyone on these forums is so eager to help. I'm sure not everyone on these forums can decide immediately how to invest 3k on a bodykit; I'd rather ask and know and look like a noob than end up paying for something I don't want.

I'm not sure why you have a problem with me asking questions and getting opinions. I ask because I DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING like respdoc seems to do. I'm not an expert in any means about the mechanics of cars. That's why i ask.

You people on these forums are so damn stuck up, you can't even answer a question. Sure, I'm a noob, of course. I'm just beginning to learn about cars-so what? If you don't want to help, just stay out of my threads. Simple as that.

If you are willing to help/give advice, thank you. Maybe that minority will make is worthwhile to stay at such a hostile forum.

Jim Banville Mar 20, 2005 08:16 PM

You're being ridiculous! In FIVE posts you've created in FIVE months, you've asked the same body kit advice, and you still haven't made a decision? Sounds like a terminal case of analysis paralysis, in my professional opinion :D

chitownc32 Mar 20, 2005 08:24 PM

i agree with dchou if he needs help let him get it from anyone who wants to give it to him If he posted this question 5 times then you idiots who are complaining are obviously stuipid for reading the same post 5 times just stay out of his threads and let him be no one forces you to read the threads next time just skip it all he wants is some freeking help

Jim Banville Mar 20, 2005 08:41 PM

You don't know how to use punctuation or capitalization, and WE'RE the "stupid" "idiots" :rolf:
Oh, I just saw where you're from... now I understand :y

dchou Mar 20, 2005 08:48 PM

The reason i haven't decided in five months is that I'm won't be getting anything until the end of this summer. There's no rush and I'm in school so i have time to get to know each of the kits as well as i can before making a decision.

Why the hell do you care if I ask about 5 DIFFERENT kits? I didn't ask the same question at all, all five posts were about different kits, except for this one. Get a life loser and stop worrying about how people post.

Chitown, I'm from Chicago too. :y

------

Back to my question. What is the difference between the two Brabus fronts (Brabus Front vs. Brabus Front with Integrated Spoiler)?
