Official S-Class/W220 Style Taillights Thread
I just got my LED's and I noticed the lights I received had 6 pins. My stock 2005 lights have 7 pins. The connectors do not fit together, however the fitament of the actual lights onto the car were pretty good. I am going to return these lights.. but here are some pics...

Too many to list
Are those taillights the ones from ebay? I've seen several auctions on ebay that look similar to those. Did you try to plug it to see if it'll fit and light up the lights? I just want to see how it looks...because I was considering to buy a pair too. Let us know how it goes...if you decide to return it.

well knowing me, I'd jusdt cut the wires and soder them on, but that's just me.
YOu can always take the stock tails cut the connectors and soder the wires and then plug em in.

Just shooting from the hip on this one. Could it be that in the US you have the extra little side marker bulb in the tail that ROW doesn't have. Since these tails are AM it would seem that this could explain the missing pin and possible lack of functionality.

I just check my connection plug for my taillight, both side has only 6 pin, but the left one '1' slot is empty, just blank plastic with no metal clip. I would think that those LED light are meant for a car with similar spec as mine (AUS version). How much u paid for urs?? Might be interested

Here's the pic of the pin in my car. In the first pic is the pin for left hand side taillight, and notice that there is no metal pin on number 1 slot, only empty plastic slot.

Interesting information.. thanks guys. I'll take a look at it this weekend. I think I'll call up by father and see if he can figure it out since he's an electrician. Maybe he'd know. Knowing the intricate electrical system that European cars have, I thought I'd ask you guys for your opinion first. Thanks for all your help. Any more info/feedback would be appreciated.

Those lights look amazingly better than the stock, if your father is an electricain.... you've got it made, no problem.
Just will need to take the wire harness off the stock lights and put it on the new lights. Will take some time to figure out which wire goes to which bulb, but thats no big issue.
Just find the ground wire (s) first, with a voltmeter! Will need to buy some solder and heat shrink, or you can go the easy way and just buy some butt-connectors.

I bought it from that guy selling on E-bay.. but not through an auction. He wasn't putting them up anymore so I emailed him directly. His email address is.... 175535@yahoo.com.tw
I sent him a message regarding my fitament problems but I haven't recieved a response yet. I hope he's not being shady since he already made the sale. But in any case, I will figure out how to make these lights work.
I don't have anymore pics since I took that one light off my car. I just snapped a quick teaser shot. Once I get everything up and running, I will clean up the car and take all the pics you guys want.

The extra pin on my stock lights is for the rear fog light. The rear drivers light has two wires running to that inner bulb. On the pass. side, there is a blank female pin on the stock harness.
I had my brother come down and look at the drawings I made and they were correct. He used a volt meter to verify this. He's going to make a custom harness for me somehow hopefully without cutting the stock harness coming from my car.
We noticed that with these aftermarket lights, I "may" loose the functionality of the rear fog light. Not sure yet. Both inner bulbs on the LED lamps do not have dual filament bulbs. The aftermarket lights may just increase the voltage to simulate the rear fog light intensity. Not sure yet. Also, I noticed the same wire that runs to power the inner running light also runs up to the LED brake light pad. So this might mean the brake lights may serve as running lights as well. Again, not sure on this, but that's what it looks like. Any takes on this?...this is just a guess.
I just have to get a hold of my father to see what he thinks. That's the latest update. I'll keep you guys posted on this.

LED/S-Class Style Tail lights
Anyone have any info on these lights? I saw EKY's thread on a similar type, his were LEDs. These are just "altezza" like, and with the S-Class style signal lens.
